Description
Netherite Ingot is crafted by combining four Netherite Scrap with four gold ingots in any arrangement in a crafting grid. Netherite Scrap comes from smelting Ancient Debris — the rarest ore in the game, found only in the Nether between Y 8 and Y 119, with the densest clusters around Y 15. Beds and respawn anchors explode in the Nether, making them efficient tools for mining Ancient Debris clusters.
At a smithing table, a Netherite Ingot combined with the Netherite Upgrade smithing template transforms Diamond tools, weapons, and armor into Netherite equivalents. Netherite gear has higher base damage, greater armor values, 2031+ durability on most pieces, floats in lava, and does not despawn when dropped in lava. Netherite armor also grants knockback resistance. All existing enchantments transfer intact during the upgrade, so the recommended path is to enchant Diamond gear first, then upgrade.
