Description

The Netherite Scythe is the top of the eight scythe tiers in the Ala Industrial mod for Minecraft 26.2: a single right-click from the main hand mows a flat 7×5 patch up to three blocks tall — up to 70 plants per swing — of leaves, grass, flowers, ferns, mushrooms, vines and saplings, and every broken block drops its normal loot. Hold Shift while right-clicking to switch the Netherite Scythe into harvest mode: the same area cuts only fully mature crops — wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, the torchflower crop — plus ripe sweet berry bushes and the cactus or sugar cane blocks above their base, leaving unripe seedlings and melon or pumpkin stems to keep growing.

Netherite Scythe carries 2,031 durability, and every actually broken plant costs exactly one point regardless of hardness — short grass wears the tool exactly like leaves. In harvest mode each cut of a true crop has a 35% chance to drop one extra seed, a roll that is independent of Fortune and stacks with it. As a hoe-type tool the Netherite Scythe takes Efficiency, Unbreaking, Fortune, Silk Touch and Mending. Unlike vanilla netherite gear, it is crafted at a workbench rather than a smithing table — three netherite ingots and two sticks in the custom scythe shape — and repairs with netherite ingots at an anvil. It is also the only fire-resistant scythe in the line: dropped in fire or lava, the item survives like all netherite gear. The Netherite Scythe is a hand tool outside Ala Industrial's EU energy tiers and works the same on Fabric and NeoForge.

How to use the Netherite Scythe in Minecraft

  1. 1

Craft the Netherite Scythe at a workbench

Place three netherite ingots and two sticks in the custom scythe shape — two ingots across the top row, a stick and an ingot in the middle row, one stick below. Unlike vanilla netherite gear, the recipe is a workbench craft, not a smithing-table upgrade, and yields one Netherite Scythe.

  2. 2

Mow foliage with a plain right-click

Right-click a plant from the main hand and the Netherite Scythe clears a flat 7×5 area up to three blocks tall — leaves, grass, flowers, ferns, mushrooms, vines, saplings — with a cap of 70 blocks per swing. Every block drops what it would if broken by hand, so Fortune and Silk Touch both apply.

  3. 3

    Harvest crops with Shift held

Hold Shift and right-click to switch to harvest mode. Only fully mature crops are cut — wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, ripe sweet berry bushes, plus cactus and sugar cane above the base block — so unripe seedlings and melon or pumpkin stems stay alive.

  4. 4

Enchant the Netherite Scythe like a hoe

The tool accepts Efficiency, Unbreaking, Fortune, Silk Touch and Mending at the enchanting table and anvil. Fortune boosts the main drop while the 35% bonus-seed roll stacks on top of it, and Mending stretches the 2,031-point durability bar even further.

  5. 5

Rely on it around fire and lava

The Netherite Scythe is the only fire-resistant scythe in Ala Industrial: as a netherite item it does not burn in fire or lava, so a death in the nether does not destroy it. Repair it with netherite ingots at an anvil when the durability bar runs low.

Netherite Scythe limits

The Netherite Scythe only touches vegetation: it never chops logs, bamboo, kelp, dirt or the moss block, melon and pumpkin stems are never cut in either mode, and one swing stops at 70 blocks — nearest plants first. It uses no EU power, and Efficiency does not speed up the instant area.

Frequently asked questions

How do you craft the Netherite Scythe in Ala Industrial?

At a workbench, not a smithing table: place three netherite ingots and two sticks in the custom scythe shape — two ingots on top, a stick and an ingot in the middle row, one stick below. The recipe yields one Netherite Scythe.

What area does the Netherite Scythe clear in one swing?

One right-click mows a flat 7×5 patch up to three blocks tall, with a cap of 70 blocks per swing. That is the widest area of all eight Ala Industrial scythe tiers — the Diamond Scythe reaches 5×5 and 50 blocks.

Does the Netherite Scythe destroy unripe crops?

No. A plain right-click never touches crops at all, and Shift harvest mode cuts only fully mature crops, leaving unripe seedlings and melon or pumpkin stems to keep growing.

How does the 35% bonus seed chance work?

In harvest mode, each cut of a true crop — wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot or the torchflower crop — has a 35% chance to drop one extra seed. The roll is independent of Fortune and stacks with it, while berries, cactus and sugar cane never grant it.

How long does the Netherite Scythe last?

Netherite Scythe carries 2,031 durability, and every actually broken plant costs exactly one point regardless of hardness — short grass wears it like leaves. Repair it with netherite ingots at an anvil.

Is the Netherite Scythe fireproof?

Yes — it is the only fire-resistant scythe in Ala Industrial. As a netherite item it survives fire and lava, so dropping it in lava does not destroy it, exactly like other netherite gear.
