How do I download a Minecraft player's skin by username?

Type the Minecraft Java Edition username into AlaCraft Skin Viewer. AlaCraft Skin Viewer queries Mojang's session server, retrieves the player's UUID, and renders the 64×64 PNG skin texture with a download button. Bedrock Edition usernames will not return a skin because Bedrock skins live on Xbox Live infrastructure and are not publicly exposed.

What is a Minecraft UUID and why does AlaCraft Skin Viewer show it?

A Minecraft UUID is the permanent 32-character identifier Mojang assigns to every account. Usernames can be renamed every 30 days, but the UUID never changes. AlaCraft Skin Viewer shows the UUID so server owners can whitelist, ban, or grant permissions to a player even after the player renames the Mojang account.

How do I get a Minecraft player's head as an item using AlaCraft Skin Viewer?

AlaCraft Skin Viewer generates a /give @p minecraft:player_head{SkullOwner:"USERNAME"} command for Minecraft 1.13 through 1.21+ and a /give @p skull 1 3 {SkullOwner:"USERNAME"} command for Minecraft 1.8 through 1.12.2. Paste the command into any operator or single-player console to receive a head that displays the player's current Mojang skin.

Does AlaCraft Skin Viewer support Minecraft Bedrock Edition skins?

AlaCraft Skin Viewer supports Minecraft Java Edition only. Mojang publishes Java skins through a public session API at sessionserver.mojang.com, but Bedrock skins are stored on Xbox Live infrastructure and are not exposed externally, so AlaCraft Skin Viewer cannot fetch skins for Bedrock, Pocket, Windows 10, Switch, PlayStation, or Xbox players.

Is it legal to download another Minecraft player's skin?

Downloading a skin from Mojang's public API is technically permitted because the texture is served as a public URL, but uploading another player's skin to your own Mojang account or redistributing the skin as your own creation can violate the Minecraft EULA and the original creator's copyright. Use AlaCraft Skin Viewer for personal preview, archiving, or generating player heads — not for impersonation.

Download skins in Minecraft

Enter your nickname in Minecraft and get the current skin

The Minecraft Skin Viewer finds any Java Edition player skin by username. A skin is the image the game wraps around the character model, including the second overlay layer with the hat and hair. The data comes straight from Mojang servers, so you see the latest uploaded skin — spin it on a 3D model, download it as PNG, and grab the command that hands out that player head.

Minecraft Skin Viewer by Player Username

AlaCraft Skin Viewer fetches any Minecraft Java Edition player's skin directly from Mojang's session servers using only the in-game username. AlaCraft Skin Viewer returns the player's UUID, the raw 64×64 PNG texture file, and ready-to-paste /give @p minecraft:player_head commands compatible with Minecraft versions 1.8 through 1.21+.

The Mojang API behind AlaCraft Skin Viewer always serves the most recent skin a player uploaded to their Mojang or Microsoft account, including the second transparent overlay layer (hat, hair). Bedrock Edition skins are stored on Xbox Live infrastructure and are not publicly exposed, so AlaCraft Skin Viewer covers Minecraft Java Edition only.

Use AlaCraft Skin Viewer to archive a friend's skin before they change it, preview a skin on a 3D model before applying, or generate a /give command that drops a custom player head onto any survival or creative server. JavaScript is required to render the 3D/2D viewer and the download button.
