The Stronghold Finder works out where in a Minecraft world the stronghold with the End portal is hidden.
An Eye of Ender thrown into the air flies towards the nearest stronghold, but it never tells you how far that stronghold is. The Stronghold Finder solves this by triangulation: two throws from different spots give two rays, and the stronghold stands where those rays cross.
Six numbers are needed — the X and Z coordinates and the viewing angle for each throw. All three are shown on the debug screen, which opens with the F3 key. The calculator immediately gives the point to walk to and dig down, and rates how precise that result is.
The further apart the two throws are made, the sharper the rays cross and the smaller the error, so between throws it is worth walking five hundred to a thousand blocks to the side. With a good crossing, the miss is only a few dozen blocks.
