Use Shears on the cube — the absorbed block drops as an item. A dispenser loaded with shears also works. Exception: a primed TNT cube cannot be sheared.

Find a large Sulfur Cube, hold an empty bucket and click on it — you get a Bucket of Sulfur Cube. Small cubes cannot be bucketed.
