Leather armour dyeing picks a colour and hands you the finished command.
Only leather takes dye in Minecraft: the cap, the tunic, the pants, the boots and the leather horse armour. Metal, diamond and netherite will not colour at all. The game itself stores a colour not as the familiar code but as a single whole number, and the page converts one into the other for you.
You pick the shade with the colour wheel, by typing a code, or from a ready preset — the armour and horse armour preview repaints straight away. Beside it sits the similarity match: it shows which in-game dyes come closest to reproducing that colour.
The give command is generated in four syntax variants, from the old builds to the newest ones, because the format changed several times over the years. It copies with a button and works both in chat and in a command block, but you need operator rights. Without them, armour is dyed at the crafting table with ordinary dyes. And a colour you like can be published to the community gallery.
