Description

The Advanced Electromagnet is the second-tier pickup item of Ala Industrial: kept in any inventory slot, the Advanced Electromagnet pulls dropped objects toward the player from a 9-block radius — against 5 blocks at the first tier — and no other electromagnet in the mod attracts experience orbs. Every pulled item costs 2 EU, exactly what the ordinary Electromagnet pays, and every experience orb costs 4 EU. The internal buffer holds 20,000 EU, four times the 5,000 EU of the base magnet, and the charge intake accepts up to 128 EU/t — four times the base 32 EU/t. Experience orbs the game itself can already reach, within 8 blocks of the player, are left alone: vanilla collects those for free, and the Advanced Electromagnet charges nothing for them.

The recipe upgrades the ordinary Electromagnet directly: the first-tier magnet sits at the centre of the 3×3 grid in any state — charged, empty, on or off — framed by four Reinforced Electrum Plates in the corners, two Advanced Circuits on the sides, a Copper Coil on top and an Energy Crystal at the bottom. A shift-right-click toggles the Advanced Electromagnet, and the state is remembered in the magnet itself; switched off, the Advanced Electromagnet spends nothing and pulls nothing. Advanced Circuits and the Energy Crystal make the upgrade a late-game build, worth assembling once the base already supplies steady power. Ala Industrial runs on Minecraft 26.2 Java Edition only, on both the Fabric and NeoForge loaders.

Guide

How to craft and use the Advanced Electromagnet

  1. 1

    Craft the first-tier Electromagnet

Build the ordinary Electromagnet on a 3×3 crafting grid from four iron ingots, one Copper Coil, one Electronic Circuit, one redstone dust and one lapis lazuli.

  2. 2

    Gather the upgrade parts

Collect four Reinforced Electrum Plates, two Advanced Circuits, one more Copper Coil and one Energy Crystal for the second tier.

  3. 3

    Lay out the 3×3 upgrade

Place the Electromagnet in the centre, Reinforced Electrum Plates in the four corners, Advanced Circuits on the left and right, the Copper Coil on top and the Energy Crystal at the bottom. The centre slot accepts the first-tier magnet in any state.

  4. 4

    Charge the 20,000 EU buffer

Put the assembled Advanced Electromagnet into a charging slot; at 128 EU per tick the 20,000 EU buffer fills in about eight seconds.

  5. 5

    Switch on and carry

Toggle the Advanced Electromagnet with a shift-right-click and leave the magnet in any inventory slot: dropped items arrive from up to 9 blocks, experience orbs from beyond the game's own 8-block reach.

Switch off near sorters

A switched-off Advanced Electromagnet drains no EU at all: turn the magnet off around automatic farms and sorting machines so their drops stay where the system expects them.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Advanced Electromagnet do better than the ordinary Electromagnet?

The Advanced Electromagnet reaches 9 blocks instead of 5, stores 20,000 EU instead of 5,000, charges at 128 EU/t instead of 32, and collects experience orbs at 4 EU each — the first tier ignores experience entirely.

Does the magnet waste EU on experience the game collects anyway?

No. Experience orbs within 8 blocks of the player are picked up by the game itself, so the Advanced Electromagnet leaves them alone and charges nothing.

Do I need a fresh Electromagnet for the upgrade recipe?

No. The centre slot of the upgrade accepts the ordinary Electromagnet in any state — charged, empty, switched on or switched off.

Is the Advanced Electromagnet available outside Java Edition?

No. Ala Industrial is a Java Edition mod for Minecraft 26.2 and runs on both the Fabric and NeoForge loaders.

How much pickup does one full charge cover?

The 20,000 EU buffer covers about 10,000 pulled items at 2 EU each, or 5,000 experience orbs at 4 EU each; a normal session mixes both.
