Crafting one Advanced Conductor Tip takes 2 Advanced Circuits in the top corners of a crafting table, 3 Gold Plates around the middle, 1 Reinforced Conductor Tip in the centre and 1 Electronic Circuit at the bottom. The Advanced grade survives roughly 60 caught strikes, three times the Reinforced grade, and a worn Advanced Conductor Tip is restored on the Component Repair Bench instead of being recrafted. A strike into a full capacitor is wasted and wears the Advanced Conductor Tip twice as hard, so drain the banked energy before the next thunderstorm arrives.

Open the Lightning Rod Generator and put the Advanced Conductor Tip into the single central tip slot; the mast rises on the Lightning Rod Generator the moment a tip is fitted.

Leave open sky above the rod and wait for rain or a thunderstorm: every strike banks 20 000 EU into the Advanced Conductor Tip until its capacitor holds 30 000 EU.

Spend the banked energy at 24 EU/t before the next strike lands: a strike into a full Advanced Conductor Tip is wasted and wears the part twice as hard.
