Description

Netherite Scrap is a fire-immune material produced by smelting ancient debris in a furnace or blast furnace, yielding two experience points per operation. Ancient debris generates mostly between Y=8 and Y=24 in the Nether (Bedrock: 8–23), with rare blobs up to Y=119 and an average peak at Y=16; each block mined with a diamond pickaxe converts into a single piece, making the resource one of the slowest to accumulate in survival progression.

Four scraps combined with four gold ingots in a crafting table produce one netherite ingot, the foundation for upgrading diamond gear. Netherite Scrap stacks up to 64 per slot and resists fire and lava in item form, though ordinary explosions can still destroy dropped scraps; Netherite Scrap occasionally turns up in bastion treasure chests as well.

    Ancient debris needs a diamond or netherite pickaxe to drop; stone, iron, and gold pickaxes destroy it with no drop.
