Ancient Debris
Ancient Debris is the rarest ore in Minecraft and the only path to Netherite — extracted deep in the Nether with diamond pickaxe.

Description
Ancient Debris generates exclusively in the Nether between y=8 and y=119, with maximum density around y=15. Its visual is unique: a charred, semi-organic block with twisted dark metal veins curling through it, sitting in pockets of a one-to-three blocks. Crucially, the block is blast-proof — it cannot be destroyed by TNT, ghast fireballs, or beds-exploding, which is exactly the trick most players use to find it efficiently.
A diamond pickaxe is the minimum required tool. Smelting one piece of debris in a furnace produces a netherite scrap; four scraps plus four gold ingots craft a netherite ingot, which then upgrades diamond gear into the strongest tier in the game via a smithing table. The ore drops itself directly when mined, so Silk Touch is unnecessary. Most players bring an enchanted bed or TNT down to y=15, plant the explosive in a small pocket, and detonate — the surrounding netherrack vaporizes while every Ancient Debris block remains intact and ready to collect.
