Netherite Leggings are the highest-tier leg armor in Minecraft, introduced in the 1.16 Nether Update. You cannot craft them in a crafting grid. Instead you upgrade Diamond Leggings at a Smithing Table using one Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template and one Netherite Ingot, with the template becoming mandatory in version 1.20. Each Netherite Ingot needs four Netherite Scrap, smelted from Ancient Debris mined in the Nether, combined with four Gold Ingots. Java Edition and Bedrock Edition share the same upgrade recipe and stats, making Netherite Leggings a core endgame choice for players exploring the Nether, the End, or deep caves.
