Iron Plate
Iron Plate — stamp one iron ingot in the Compressor (260 EU) or with a forge hammer to get the core component for machine hulls.
Description
The first and biggest consumer of Iron Plate is the machine hull, whose recipe arranges eight iron plates in a frame on the crafting grid. That hull then replaces raw stone in the assembly of the Macerator, Extractor, and Compressor, so a steady plate supply unlocks the mod's whole processing chain. An unwanted Iron Plate can be ground back into one iron dust in the Macerator at a cost of 300 EU, which makes the plate reversible but never free: the material cancels out while the energy does not. Automate stamping early, because every iron ingot spent on tools, buckets, and pistons competes with the plates each machine demands.

How to make an Iron Plate in Ala Industrial
-
1
Gather an iron ingot
Smelt iron ore, or grind ore into iron dust in the Macerator and smelt the dust for the ore-doubling route.
-
2
Choose your tool
Use a forge hammer on a crafting grid before you have power, or the Compressor once an LV network is running.
-
3
Compressor route (260 EU)
Place one iron ingot in the Compressor; it draws 260 EU and outputs one Iron Plate at a one-to-one ratio.
-
4
Forge hammer route
Combine one iron ingot with a forge hammer shapelessly on a crafting grid; the hammer stays, losing one durability per plate.
-
5
Build toward a machine hull
Stamp eight Iron Plates and arrange them in a frame to craft a machine hull, the core of the Macerator, Extractor, and Compressor.
An unwanted Iron Plate can be ground back into one iron dust in the Macerator for 300 EU. The material is returned, but the energy is not.

Frequently asked questions
How do you craft an Iron Plate?
Feed one iron ingot into the Compressor for 260 EU, or combine one iron ingot with a forge hammer on a crafting grid. Both paths output exactly one Iron Plate.
What is the Iron Plate used for?
Eight Iron Plates arranged in a frame craft a machine hull, which is the core ingredient of the Macerator, Extractor, and Compressor. Iron Plate also appears across many mid-tier machine recipes.
Is the Iron Plate renewable?
Yes. Iron is renewable through iron golems and villager trading, and one iron ingot stamps into one Iron Plate, so the plate is renewable as well.
Can you turn an Iron Plate back into an ingot?
Grind the Iron Plate in the Macerator into one iron dust (300 EU), then smelt the dust into an iron ingot. The material is returned, but the energy is not.
Is Iron Plate a block you can place?
No. Iron Plate is an inventory item and crafting component; it cannot be placed in the world. It stacks to 64.
Which Minecraft version and loaders does Iron Plate need?
Iron Plate is part of Ala Industrial for Minecraft 26.2 (Java Edition) and works on both the Fabric and NeoForge loaders.
