Compressor
Compressor is the LV machine that squeezes dust back into items — the only block that restores coal, diamond, emerald and lapis dust, closing the non-metal ore-doubling loop in Ala Industrial.
Description
The standout job of the Compressor is closing the ore-doubling loop for non-metals: it is the only machine that restores coal, diamond, emerald and lapis dust back into a usable item, so the ore → 2 dust → 2 items chain works for those ores too (the Electric Furnace will not smelt those dusts). One input slot and one output slot keep the interface simple, the finished result does not eject on its own, and energy enters through the five working faces while the front face stays inert. Pair the Compressor with the Macerator (which produces the dust) and a Generator (the LV power source) to complete the full non-metal doubling workflow on Minecraft 26.2 Java Edition with Fabric or NeoForge.

How to use the Compressor in Ala Industrial
-
1
Craft the Compressor
Build a Compressor at a workbench using two pistons, four iron ingots, one machine casing and one electronic circuit arranged in the PIP / IMI / IEI pattern.
-
2
Supply LV power to a working face
Connect an LV cable (up to 32 EU/tick) to one of the five working faces; the front face stays inert, so the Compressor will not draw power there.
-
3
Place the input in the slot
Drop dust, clay, ice, packed ice, snow blocks or sugar cane into the single input slot — the Compressor holds an 800 EU buffer and starts pressing once it has power and an input.
-
4
Wait 130 ticks (~6.5 seconds)
Each press runs 130 ticks and costs 260 EU at 2 EU per tick; watch the progress bar and the energy buffer in the interface.
-
5
Collect the result
Pick up the pressed item from the output slot by hand or with a hopper, since the Compressor does not auto-eject its finished product.
For coal, diamond, emerald and lapis, the Compressor is the only machine that turns the dust back into the item — grind the ore in a Macerator first, then press both dusts here for two items from one ore.

Frequently asked questions
What does the Compressor do in Ala Industrial?
The Compressor presses raw materials into denser forms at 2 EU per tick and 260 EU per cycle, including metal dust into ingots, clay into bricks, ice into packed ice and packed ice into blue ice.
Why is the Compressor essential for non-metal ore doubling?
The Compressor is the only machine that restores coal, diamond, emerald and lapis dust back into a usable item, so grinding one ore into two dusts and pressing both yields two items. The Electric Furnace will not smelt those dusts.
How is the Compressor crafted?
The Compressor is crafted at a workbench from two pistons, four iron ingots, one machine casing and one electronic circuit in the PIP / IMI / IEI pattern.
How much energy does the Compressor use?
The Compressor holds an 800 EU internal buffer, draws up to 32 EU/tick on the LV tier, and consumes 2 EU per tick for 130 ticks (~6.5 seconds), costing 260 EU per operation.
What tool breaks the Compressor, and does it keep its charge?
Any pickaxe breaks the Compressor (hardness 3.0, blast resistance 6.0), but the block does not keep its stored EU when broken — the energy is lost.
Does the Compressor auto-eject its finished product?
No. The Compressor has one input slot and one output slot and does not auto-output, so collect the result by hand or with a hopper through one of the five working faces.
