Description

The Storage Module is a 27-slot steel cabinet whose defining trick is merging with its neighbours. Place two modules face to face and they become one 54-slot warehouse behind a single window; three modules give 81 slots, four give 108, and that is the cap. Right-click any module of the build and the window shows the entire warehouse rather than the 27 slots of the block you clicked. Only face-to-face contact merges — edge and corner contact never does — so two separate warehouses can stand flush against each other, and a fifth module adds nothing beyond the 108-slot ceiling. The Storage Module needs no energy and no redstone, accepts any build shape, and works the same on Fabric and NeoForge in Minecraft 26.2.

A Storage Module is crafted from four iron plates in a cross around a vanilla chest — deliberately cheap, because growing the warehouse is a consumable, not a milestone. Items physically sit in the module they were put into: breaking a module drops only its own contents, and breaking one in the middle of a build splits the warehouse while the detached modules keep their items in place. Item pipes can fill and empty the finished warehouse from outside, and the Assembler can draw its materials straight from a cluster like this. In Ala Industrial's storage line the module warehouse's 108 slots sit above the Gold Chest's 54, though each chest still delivers its whole capacity in one block.

How to build a Storage Module warehouse in Ala Industrial

  1. 1

    Craft the first module

Place four iron plates in a cross around a vanilla chest at a crafting table to make one Storage Module.

  2. 2

    Place modules face to face

Butt each new module directly against the build so full faces touch. Modules that meet along an edge or a corner never merge and stay separate warehouses.

  3. 3

Open any module of the build

Right-click any module: the shared window shows the whole warehouse — 27 slots for one module, up to 108 for four — no matter which block you clicked.

  4. 4

Scroll and shift-click the big window

From three modules up, the window shows six rows at a time plus a scrollbar. Shift-clicked items also land in the rows that are currently off screen.

  5. 5

    Stop at four modules

A fifth module adds no capacity: the warehouse is capped at 108 slots, and the window displays how many modules are actually connected.

Breaking a module

Only the broken module's own items drop. The rest of the build splits into independent warehouses whose contents stay exactly where they were.

Frequently asked questions

How many slots does a Storage Module hold?

Each Storage Module holds 27 slots in three rows of nine. Modules merged face to face share one window: two give 54 slots, three give 81, and four reach the 108-slot cap.

How do you craft a Storage Module?

Surround a vanilla chest with four iron plates in a cross pattern at a crafting table. The recipe yields one module and is deliberately cheap.

Why are my Storage Modules not merging?

Modules merge only when they touch face to face; edge and corner contact never joins them. A build of more than four modules also leaves the extras outside the 108-slot cap.

Does the Storage Module need energy?

No. The Storage Module uses no EU and no redstone and starts working the moment it is placed.

What drops when I break a module?

Only that module's own contents. Items stored in neighbouring modules stay inside them, and detached parts of the build keep working as separate warehouses.

Is the Storage Module renewable?

Yes. It is crafted from four iron plates and a vanilla chest, and both iron and wood are renewable resources in Minecraft.
