Black Bed
Black Bed skips the night and moves the spawn point (where the player reappears after dying) to the bed's location in Minecraft.
Description
Black Bed accepts sleep only in the Overworld, when the internal sky light falls to 11 or below — at night, or at any hour of a thunderstorm. A full sleep lasts 5.05 seconds (101 game ticks), then the world skips to the next sunrise. A monster within 8 blocks horizontally and 5 blocks vertically of the bed head keeps the player awake until the monster leaves or dies. Pressing use on Black Bed in the daytime skips sleeping but still records the respawn point, confirmed by the chat message "Respawn point set". Falling onto Black Bed bounces a living entity at 75% of the impact velocity, and the game counts only 50% of the fall distance, so fall damage drops slightly below half.

Gather three black wool and three planks; the planks allow any wood type, and mixing different planks in one craft works.

Place the three black wool across the middle row of a crafting table and the three planks across the bottom row; the output slot gives one Black Bed.

Set Black Bed on a two-block floor space, then press use at night or during a thunderstorm to skip to the next sunrise.

Prevent phantoms
Sleep in Black Bed at least once every three in-game days, because phantoms spawn around a player who has not entered a bed or died for three days.
Black Bed occupies two floor blocks. Bedrock Edition requires solid support under Black Bed at placement time and forbids transparent blocks underneath, while Java Edition allows free placement. A piston destroys Black Bed when trying to push. A sticky piston cannot pull Black Bed.

Do villagers use a Black Bed?

What happens to the respawn point if the Black Bed is destroyed or blocked?
The respawn point lasts only while the bed exists and stays unobstructed. After a blocked or destroyed bed, the player respawns at the world spawn and must sleep again to set a new point.
