Red Bed
Red Bed is Minecraft's original bed, crafted from three red wool and three planks, that sets your respawn point and skips the night.
Description
Red Bed generates naturally inside every igloo and can also spawn in savanna villages and snowy tundra villages alongside orange, yellow, blue, and white variants. Red Bed is non-flammable in Bedrock Edition but can catch fire from lava in Java Edition, and the block cannot be stacked in an inventory. Using Red Bed in the Nether, the End, or any dimension where sleep is disabled triggers an explosion of power 5 — stronger than TNT's 4 — so players repurpose the block as an offensive mining charge underground. Falling onto Red Bed bounces entities at 75% of impact velocity and reduces fall damage to slightly less than half, which makes a floor of beds a practical drop-tower cushion.

Guide
How to craft and use a Red Bed in Minecraft
-
1
Gather three red wool
Shear or kill sheep for three wool, then dye each piece red with one rose red dye in the crafting grid.
-
2
Gather three planks
Place three logs of any wood type into a crafting table to produce twelve planks, more than enough for one Red Bed.
-
3
Arrange the bed on a crafting table
Lay the three red wool across the top row and the three planks across the middle row; the bottom row stays empty.
-
4
Place Red Bed in a safe shelter
Set Red Bed on two adjacent solid blocks at night, with no monsters within 8 blocks horizontally and 5 blocks vertically.
-
5
Sleep to set spawn and skip night
Interact with Red Bed during nighttime to sleep 101 ticks, register the respawn point, and advance to sunrise once every player is asleep.
Never interact with Red Bed in the Nether or the End: the bed explodes with power 5, stronger than TNT, and sets fire to nearby blocks.

Can you craft a Red Bed in Minecraft?
Yes. Place three red wool across the top row of a crafting table and three planks of any wood across the middle row to craft one Red Bed.
What happens if you sleep in a Red Bed in the Nether?
The Red Bed explodes with power 5, stronger than TNT at 4, deals heavy damage, and sets fire to surrounding blocks. Sleep is disabled in the Nether and the End.
Where do Red Beds generate naturally?
Red Bed always generates inside every igloo, and can also appear in savanna villages and snowy tundra villages alongside orange, yellow, blue, and white beds.
What version added the Red Bed?
Beds were added in Java Edition Beta 1.3 with red as the only color. In Java Edition 1.12 the original bed was renamed Red Bed and 15 more colors were added.
Does a Red Bed burn or catch fire?
In Bedrock Edition Red Bed is not flammable. In Java Edition Red Bed can catch fire from lava, like other wooden blocks.
Can you stack Red Beds in your inventory?
No. Red Bed is not stackable, so each bed occupies its own inventory slot regardless of stack-size limits.
