Large Mob Repeller
Large Mob Repeller is the top Ala Industrial guard field: a 24-block radius that expels hostile mobs around the clock for 64 EU/t.
Description
Large Mob Repeller cannot be crafted — the only way to get one is to insert a Soul Vessel filled with 250 souls into a Medium Mob Repeller; the block consumes the vessel whole and grows into the top tier, keeping its stored energy. The block is an HV consumer, so wire it to a high-voltage line that delivers up to 512 EU/t. The field is an upkeep cost: a constant 64 EU/t while enabled, fed from an internal buffer of 32,000 EU — when the buffer runs dry, the dome goes dark and mobs can approach again until power returns. Right-click opens the screen with the energy level and the dome button that outlines the zone boundary in the world for you personally; the Soul Vessel slot is inactive, because this is the final tier with nowhere left to grow. A redstone signal switches the field off to save energy. The field drives mobs out but does not stop them from spawning inside the zone, so keep the interior lit; while working, the emitter glows at light level 14.

Guide
How to get and run the Large Mob Repeller in Ala Industrial
-
1
Craft the Small Mob Repeller first
Build the base tier at a crafting table: four Silver Plates in the corners, a Soul Lantern on top, an Advanced Circuit at the bottom, two Copper Coils on the sides and an Advanced Machine Casing in the centre.
-
2
Evolve it into the Medium Mob Repeller
Fill a Soul Vessel with 80 souls and place it in the vessel slot: the block consumes the vessel whole and becomes a Medium Mob Repeller with a 16-block radius. Souls beyond the threshold burn with the vessel, so do not overfill it.
-
3
Fill a second Soul Vessel to 250 souls
The vessel collects a soul only from hostile mobs killed by you personally — your hand, your sword or your arrow; pet and trap kills do not count. A vessel holds at most 250 souls, exactly the Medium-to-Large threshold.
-
4
Grow the Large Mob Repeller
Insert the full Soul Vessel into the Medium Mob Repeller: the block turns into the Large Mob Repeller and keeps its stored energy, so the evolution itself costs no EU.
-
5
Wire an HV line and manage the field
Connect a high-voltage line of up to 512 EU/t — the field itself drains a constant 64 EU/t from the 32,000 EU buffer. Use the dome button to preview the 49×49×49 zone, and cut the field with a redstone signal when you want to save power.
The Large Mob Repeller expels hostile mobs but does not prevent them from spawning inside the zone — keep the area lit, and remember that an empty buffer switches the field off.

Frequently asked questions
Can you craft the Large Mob Repeller?
No. The Large Mob Repeller cannot be crafted — it grows only from a Medium Mob Repeller after you insert a Soul Vessel filled with 250 souls.
How large is the protection zone?
The field is a cube with a 24-block radius in every direction — 49×49×49 blocks centred on the Large Mob Repeller.
How much energy does the Large Mob Repeller need?
The field drains a constant 64 EU/t while enabled, the internal buffer holds 32,000 EU, and the block accepts up to 512 EU/t from an HV line.
Does the Large Mob Repeller harm villagers and animals?
No. Passive mobs, villagers and players are unaffected; calm neutral mobs such as an unprovoked enderman are left alone, and a shulker is the single exception that stays.
Does the field stop mobs from spawning inside the zone?
No. The Large Mob Repeller drives hostile mobs out of the cube but does not block spawning — light the interior with torches as usual.
What happens when the power runs out?
The field goes dark and hostile mobs can approach again until the 32,000 EU buffer is recharged; a redstone signal can also switch the field off on purpose.
