Glowstone Dust drops when a glowstone block is mined in the Nether, where glowstone forms bright yellow clusters on cavern ceilings and walls. Each glowstone block drops 2 to 4 Glowstone Dust, and the Fortune enchantment raises the yield up to a guaranteed 4. Witches also drop 0 to 2 Glowstone Dust on death, and master-level cleric villagers trade it, making Glowstone Dust renewable without a Nether trip. Glowstone Dust is a glowing yellow powder that stacks to 64 in the inventory.
Glowstone Dust crafts a full glowstone block from four dust in a 2x2 grid, restoring the light-level-15 block that a Silk Touch pickaxe would otherwise be needed to keep. In brewing, Glowstone Dust upgrades a potion to its tier II form — Strength becomes Strength II, Regeneration becomes Regeneration II — by raising potency at the cost of duration.
