How to use the Remote Comparator in IndustrialCraft 2
-
1
Craft the remote
Combine 2 Tin Item Casings, 1 Insulated Copper Cable, 1 Lapis Lazuli Dust and 1 FreqTrans in the crafting grid to make one Remote Comparator.
-
2
Place your Dynamite
Set down each Dynamite stick where you want the explosion, just as you would place a torch on a wall or floor.
-
3
Prime the charges
Hold the remote and right-click every Dynamite stick; a primed stick gains a lighter-colored cap so you can confirm it is linked.
-
4
Detonate from cover
Move to a safe spot and right-click into open air to fire all primed sticks at once; aiming at a block will not trigger them.
Right-clicking at a block never detonates, only right-clicking into the air does. Place an armed Dynamite stick beside TNT or an IC2 Nuke to chain-trigger larger explosives.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Remote Comparator used for?
It is the IndustrialCraft 2 Dynamite-O-Mote, a wireless detonator that fires one or many primed Dynamite sticks at the same time.
How do you craft the Remote Comparator?
Combine 2 Tin Item Casings, 1 Insulated Copper Cable, 1 Lapis Lazuli Dust and 1 FreqTrans in a 3x3 crafting grid.
How do you arm Dynamite with the remote?
Hold the remote and right-click each placed Dynamite stick; primed sticks show a lighter-colored cap on top.
Why won't my Dynamite detonate?
Right-clicking while aimed at a block does nothing; you must right-click into open air to set off the primed charges.
Can the Remote Comparator trigger TNT?
Yes. Place an armed Dynamite stick next to TNT or an IC2 Nuke, and detonating the dynamite sets off the larger explosive.
