Description

The Mass Fabricator is Industrial Craft 2's energy-to-matter converter: for every 1,000,000 EU pumped in, the machine condenses 1 mB of UU-Matter, the universal liquid a Replicator can rebuild almost any game resource from. The Mass Fabricator runs on the high-voltage tier, accepts energy packets of up to 512 EU per tick, and buffers 1,000,000 EU internally to ride out dips in generation. Feeding Scrap cuts the cost of every mB to 166,666 EU plus 34 Scrap — roughly one sixth of the clean-energy price, which is why a Recycler belongs next to every Mass Fabricator. A redstone signal halts the power draw completely, so surplus energy can be redirected without dismantling cables.

The Mass Fabricator opens the top tier of Industrial Craft 2's tech tree: UU-Matter leaves the machine as a liquid, drained with a Universal Fluid Cell or fluid piping once the tank fills, and the Replicator downstream rebuilds scanned items from that liquid hour after hour. Two late-game assembly recipes produce the Mass Fabricator — both are rendered in the recipe section of this page, and both cost far less than the energy infrastructure the machine is about to consume.

How to use the Mass Fabricator in Industrial Craft 2

    Connect a high-voltage source

    Wire the Mass Fabricator into a high-voltage network such as the output of an HV-Transformer: the machine accepts packets of up to 512 EU per tick and nothing above.

    Add Scrap to the auxiliary slot

    Route Scrap from a Recycler into the Mass Fabricator to drop the cost of one mB from 1,000,000 EU to 166,666 EU plus 34 Scrap.

    Collect the UU-Matter

    Drain the finished liquid with a Universal Fluid Cell or fluid pipes once the internal tank holds enough UU-Matter for the next replication.

    Pause production with redstone

    Apply a redstone signal whenever the stored EU is needed elsewhere — a signaled Mass Fabricator stops drawing power but keeps its buffer.

Unlimited feed

The 512 EU limit is a packet cap, not a throughput cap: any number of cables and packets may feed a single Mass Fabricator, so one machine can absorb an entire reactor complex.
