Description

Quantum Leggings are the top-tier electric leg armor from IndustrialCraft 2 Experimental, storing 10,000,000 EU and turning sprinting into the fastest sustainable movement in IC2. While charged, Quantum Leggings boost sprint speed by roughly +30% and fully nullify fall damage by spending EU on impact instead of hit points. Quantum Leggings sit at Tier 4 (Extreme Voltage, EV), so they accept up to 2048 EU/t and must be charged in an MFSU or higher; an MFE or BatBox throttles the input. Crafting Quantum Leggings uses a Nano-Leggings core, Iridium Reinforced Plates around it in the bench, and a Lapotron Crystal as the energy core in a standard 3x3 layout. The sprint boost is toggleable with the IC2 mode key (default M), useful when you don't want to outrun your render distance underground. Quantum Leggings drain EU per absorbed damage as well, so they double as armor that still protects after a Quantum Chestplate empties. They are not obtainable in vanilla Minecraft — Iridium Ore is rare and typically comes from UU-Matter, and a Lapotron Crystal needs an Energy Crystal upgrade. Supported on Forge 1.7.10, 1.10.2, 1.11.2, and 1.12.2.

Guide

How to craft and use Quantum Leggings in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Gather the components

You need a Nano-Leggings, Iridium Reinforced Plates, and a Lapotron Crystal. Iridium Ore is rare and most players produce it from UU-Matter in a Mass Fabricator.

  2. 2

    Craft in a 3x3 bench

Place the Nano-Leggings in the center of a standard crafting bench, surround it with Iridium Reinforced Plates, and add a Lapotron Crystal as the energy core.

  3. 3

    Charge in an MFSU

Quantum Leggings are Tier 4 (EV) and accept up to 2048 EU/t. Charge them in an MFSU; lower storage like MFE or BatBox is too slow to keep up with combat drain.

  4. 4

    Equip and toggle sprint boost

Wear the Quantum Leggings. Press the IC2 mode key (default M) to toggle the +30% sprint boost on or off when underground chunk loading lags behind.

  5. 5

    Use fall protection deliberately

While charged, Quantum Leggings consume EU on landing to nullify fall damage. Long drops from cliffs or jetpack flight cost a noticeable chunk of EU, so plan refuels.

Tip

Quantum Leggings keep working after a Quantum Chestplate runs dry — even depleted, the legs still absorb some damage, so prioritize recharging the chestplate first.

Frequently asked questions

How much EU do Quantum Leggings store?

Quantum Leggings store 10,000,000 EU and are a Tier 4 (Extreme Voltage) item with up to 2048 EU/t input.

Do Quantum Leggings stop fall damage?

Yes — while charged, Quantum Leggings consume EU on impact and fully nullify fall damage, including long drops and jetpack landings.

How much faster do Quantum Leggings make sprinting?

Quantum Leggings add roughly +30% to sprint speed and the boost can be toggled with the IC2 mode key (default M).

Where do I charge Quantum Leggings?

Charge Quantum Leggings in an MFSU at up to 2048 EU/t. MFE and BatBox sit below Tier 4 and recharge them slowly.

Can I get Quantum Leggings in vanilla Minecraft?

No — Quantum Leggings come from IndustrialCraft 2 Experimental, supported on Forge 1.7.10, 1.10.2, 1.11.2, and 1.12.2.
