Insulated Electrum Cable — Minecraft block

Insulated Electrum Cable

Insulated Electrum Cable is the rubber-sheathed HV line of Ala Industrial: 192 EU/tick, a 512 EU/packet cap, and the mod's lowest loss at 0.0025 per block.

Description

Insulated Electrum Cable is the rubber-sheathed HV wire in Ala Industrial that keeps the bare Electrum Cable's 192 EU/tick throughput and 512 EU/packet cap but halves attenuation from 0.005 to 0.0025 per block — the lowest loss of any wire in the mod, ahead of insulated tin at 0.003. The rubber sheath also removes contact shock entirely: bare electrum deals 10 damage on contact, the highest in the mod, while the insulated variant stays safe to touch at every flow. A full 192 EU/tick segment delivers 170 EU over 50 blocks and 150 EU over 100; bare electrum manages only 150 and 117 EU over the same distances, and the half-distance grows from 138 to about 277 blocks.

You craft Insulated Electrum Cable on a crafting table from six bare Electrum Cables and three Rubber, yielding six insulated cables at half a Rubber each — there is no wool alternative, because the sheath consumes rubber from the Vulcanizer chain. The bare grade itself costs five electrum ingots (a gold-silver alloy) plus four diamond dust for three cables, so the price sits in the craft, not the operation. The block works identically on Fabric and NeoForge for Minecraft 26.2 (Java Edition). The halved 0.0025 rate applies only inside a fully insulated electrum network: in a mixed network the grade with the higher packet cap sets the loss, and at equal caps a bare segment takes priority. A positive packet always delivers at least 1 EU, so a long run still tops off storage exactly. Any tool breaks Insulated Electrum Cable, though shears are the fastest.

How to craft and use Insulated Electrum Cable in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Smelt the electrum alloy

Craft electrum ingots in the Alloy Smelter first — one gold ingot plus one silver ingot gives a single electrum ingot.

  2. 2

    Build the bare cables

Arrange five electrum ingots and four diamond dust in an alternating grid; one craft yields three bare Electrum Cables.

  3. 3

    Insulate with rubber

Place six bare cables around three rubber — a rubber row sandwiched between two cable rows — to get six Insulated Electrum Cables.

  4. 4

    Run the HV trunk line

Connect generators and machines with the cable: it carries 192 EU/tick with a 512 EU/packet cap and loses only 0.0025 per block.

Important

The 0.0025 rate only applies in a fully insulated electrum network. In a mixed network the grade with the higher packet cap sets the loss rate, and at equal caps a bare segment takes priority.

Frequently asked questions

How do you craft Insulated Electrum Cable?

Place six bare Electrum Cables and three Rubber on a crafting table — a rubber row between two cable rows — to get six insulated cables.

How much power does Insulated Electrum Cable carry?

It is an HV cable with a 192 EU/tick throughput and a 512 EU/packet cap — the widest transmission in Ala Industrial.

What is the energy loss of Insulated Electrum Cable?

0.0025 per block, the lowest in the mod: a full 192 EU/tick flow still delivers 170 EU after 50 blocks and 150 EU after 100.

Is Insulated Electrum Cable safe to touch?

Yes. The rubber sheath blocks contact shock entirely, while bare Electrum Cable deals 10 damage on contact — the highest of any wire in the mod.

Is Insulated Electrum Cable renewable?

No. Electrum is a gold-silver alloy from finite ores, and the bare cable recipe also needs diamond dust.

Will one insulated segment improve a bare electrum line?

No. In a mixed network the grade with the higher packet cap sets the loss rate, and at equal caps a bare segment takes priority — only a fully insulated network gets the 0.0025 rate.
