Description

Electrum Cable is the first wire of the HV tier (high voltage, packets up to 512 EU) in the Ala Industrial mod for Minecraft 26.2 on Fabric and NeoForge. One segment moves 192 EU/tick through its working buffer — four times the 48 EU/tick of Gold Cable — while losing only 0.005 per block, the lowest attenuation in the mod and below even the 0.006 of cheap Tin Cable. The core is electrum, an alloy of gold and silver from the Alloy Smelter, finished with a vein of Diamond Dust that gives the wire its low losses. The first winner is the Teleporter with its 500,000 EU buffer: a Gold Cable fills it in about 8.7 minutes, an Electrum Cable in about 2.2 minutes — as long as the generators together produce more than 48 EU/tick.

Electrum Cable is crafted from 5 Electrum Ingots and 4 Diamond Dust laid out in an alternating EDE/DED/EDE pattern, and 1 diamond macerates into 2 dust, so the recipe stays deliberately expensive: this wire is laid on key routes, not across a whole base. Because the segment is bare, it deals 10 damage on contact and within 0.5 blocks while energy is actually flowing — armor reduces the hit, a solid block in between blocks it, and a disconnected line is safe. Electrum Cable never explodes from overload, since everything above 512 EU per packet simply does not pass. In a mixed network the whole line takes the cap and the loss of its strongest segment, so a single electrum run lifts a gold route to 512 EU packets. Near walkways, wrap 6 bare cables with 3 Rubber into 6 Insulated Electrum Cables: the same 192 EU/tick at 0.0025 loss and no shock at all.

How to craft and use Electrum Cable in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Craft the cable

Lay 5 Electrum Ingots and 4 Diamond Dust in an alternating EDE/DED/EDE grid to make 3 Electrum Cables. Smelt electrum from gold plus silver in the Alloy Smelter, and macerate 1 diamond into 2 dust.

  2. 2

Lay it on key routes only

Run Electrum Cable along high-traffic trunks such as the feed into a Teleporter. A mixed network takes its cap and loss from the strongest segment, so one electrum run lifts a whole gold line to 512 EU packets and 0.005 loss.

  3. 3

    Keep clear while it flows

A bare, energized segment deals 10 damage up to 0.5 blocks away. Armor reduces the hit and a solid block between you and the wire blocks it, but plan walkways outside the radius and power the line down before maintenance.

  4. 4

    Insulate traffic near players

Combine 6 bare cables with 3 Rubber to craft 6 Insulated Electrum Cables — the same 192 EU/tick at 0.0025 loss, with no shock at all.

No overload explosions

Electrum Cable never explodes from overload: 512 EU per packet is a cap, and anything above it simply does not pass through.

Frequently asked questions

How do you craft Electrum Cable?

Arrange 5 Electrum Ingots and 4 Diamond Dust in an alternating EDE/DED/EDE pattern for 3 cables. The ingots come from the Alloy Smelter (gold plus silver), and 1 diamond macerates into 2 dust.

How much power does Electrum Cable carry?

Each segment carries 192 EU/tick and accepts packets up to 512 EU — four times the 48 EU/tick of Gold Cable. It is the first wire of the HV tier in Ala Industrial.

How much energy does Electrum Cable lose over distance?

0.005 per block, the lowest loss of any cable in the mod. At full 192 EU/tick flow it still delivers 183 EU after 10 blocks, and it keeps conducting to the 1000-block limit, where a minimum of 1 EU arrives.

Does bare Electrum Cable damage the player?

Yes. While energy is flowing, the segment deals 10 damage on contact and within 0.5 blocks of it. Armor reduces the damage, a solid block in between blocks it, and the insulated variant removes the shock entirely.

Can Electrum Cable explode from overload?

No. The 512 EU per packet rating is a cap, not a fuse: anything above it simply does not pass through, so an overloaded line never destroys the cable.
