Insulated Gold Cable
Insulated Gold Cable is the MV wire in Ala Industrial that carries 48 EU/tick safely, halving bare gold's loss to 0.015 per block.
Description
You craft Insulated Gold Cable on a crafting table from six bare Gold Cables and three Rubber, yielding six insulated cables at a cost of half a Rubber each. The block works identically on Fabric and NeoForge for Minecraft 26.2 (Java Edition) and joins the shared cable network. The halved 0.015 loss only applies inside a fully insulated gold run: in a mixed network the cable with the higher packet cap sets the loss rate, and at equal caps a bare segment takes priority, so one insulated piece cannot rescue an otherwise bare line. A positive packet always delivers at least 1 EU, so even a long run will still top off a storage unit exactly. Insulated Gold Cable breaks with any tool, though shears are the fastest.

How to craft and use Insulated Gold Cable in Minecraft
-
1
Gather bare Gold Cables and Rubber
You need six bare Gold Cables and three Rubber from the Vulcanizer chain before crafting an insulated line.
-
2
Craft six insulated cables
Place six Gold Cables and three Rubber on a crafting table in two rows (cables, rubber, cables) to produce six Insulated Gold Cables.
-
3
Lay the MV line safely
Run the insulated cables between your MV machines; the rubber sheath prevents contact shock even at the full 48 EU/tick flow.
-
4
Keep the network fully insulated
Replace every bare Gold Cable in the run, because a single bare segment forces the whole line back to the higher 0.03 loss rate.
The reduced 0.015 loss applies only to a fully insulated gold run. In a mixed network, the cable with the higher packet cap sets the loss, and at equal caps a bare segment overrides its insulated counterpart.

Frequently asked questions
Can you craft Insulated Gold Cable?
Yes. Six bare Gold Cables plus three Rubber on a crafting table produce six Insulated Gold Cables, costing half a Rubber each.
Does Insulated Gold Cable shock you?
No. The rubber sheath fully prevents contact damage, unlike a bare Gold Cable which deals 6 damage (half-hearts) on contact.
What tier is Insulated Gold Cable?
It is an MV (medium voltage) cable with a 128 EU/packet cap and a 48 EU/tick throughput, matching bare gold.
How much energy does Insulated Gold Cable lose?
It loses 0.015 of the remaining flow per block — half the 0.03 rate of a bare Gold Cable — so it carries power roughly twice as far.
Is Insulated Gold Cable better than a bare Gold Cable?
Yes for safety and distance. The insulated version keeps the same 48 EU/tick throughput and 128 EU/packet cap but halves loss and removes contact shock.
Does Insulated Gold Cable work on Fabric and NeoForge?
Yes. The block is registered for both loaders and participates in the same cable network for Minecraft 26.2 (Java Edition).
