The Sawmill is the LV wood-processing machine of the Ala Industrial mod: it saws any log into planks, sticks, slabs, or stairs at a higher yield than hand-crafting. One oak log becomes 6 oak planks instead of the vanilla 4, or 18 sticks, 18 slabs, or 6 stairs, depending on the active mode. The Sawmill has four switchable modes (planks / sticks / slabs / stairs) selected by buttons in its GUI, and every wood species yields its own species: an oak log gives oak planks, and crimson stems give crimson planks. The Sawmill ships 39 sawing recipes covering 12 wood species plus bamboo, which yields half (3 bamboo planks per block), and when logs run out, a single plank can be cut into 3 sticks. The machine works identically on Fabric and NeoForge in Minecraft 26.2.

The Sawmill runs on EU: an internal energy buffer of 800 EU, a maximum input of 32 EU/t (LV tier, low voltage), and a draw of 2 EU/t while sawing. One cut takes about 80 ticks (~4 seconds) and costs 160 EU, the cheapest machine operation in Ala Industrial — smelting in an electric furnace costs 200 EU. A full Battery Box (20,000 EU) covers 125 cuts. The Sawmill is crafted at a workbench from three iron ingots across the top as saw blades, an electronic circuit in the center, a silver ingot below it, and planks as the wooden body. It has one input and one output slot with no auto-output; energy enters through the five working faces, while the front face is inert — cables do not connect there and hoppers do not work through it. Breaking the Sawmill drops it without its stored charge.
