Description

Warped Stairs are wooden stairs crafted from six Warped Planks in a staircase pattern, and one craft gives four stairs. The staircase recipe also works mirrored horizontally. Minecraft 1.16 added Warped Stairs to Java Edition and Bedrock Edition together with the rest of the warped Nether wood set. Warped Planks come from Nether wood that regrows, so Warped Stairs are renewable (a player can get more without limit).

Warped Stairs place with the half-block side closest to the player. Pointing at the underside of a block or the top half of a block side places Warped Stairs upside-down. Neighboring stairs of any material merge into inner and outer corners, but right side up stairs never join upside-down stairs. An axe breaks Warped Stairs fastest, though any tool works. Unlike oak stairs, Warped Stairs do not burn.

How to craft and place Warped Stairs in Minecraft

Craft the stairs

Six Warped Planks go into the crafting grid: three in the left column, two in the lower slots of the middle column, and one in the bottom right slot. One craft returns four Warped Stairs, and the horizontally mirrored layout works too.

Pick the orientation

The player places Warped Stairs right side up by pointing at the top of a block or the bottom half of a block side. The player places Warped Stairs upside-down by pointing at the underside of a block or the top half of a block side.

Set the direction

Warped Stairs place with the half-block side closest to the player, so the player's position decides the direction of the stairs.

Join the corners

Warped Stairs placed beside another stairs of any material reshape automatically into an inner or outer corner.

Crafting grid only

The stonecutter does not make Warped Stairs, because stonecutting covers only non-wooden stairs. The crafting recipe with six Warped Planks is the standard way to get Warped Stairs.
