Crimson Planks carry the deep blood-red tone of Nether crimson forests — and unlike Overworld wood, they never catch fire.
Description
The most important mechanical difference from Overworld wood is fire resistance. The material does not ignite from lava or fire, and a furnace will not accept it as fuel. That makes it the only structural wood safe to use directly next to lava streams in Nether bases. The full family — doors, fences, fence gates, slabs, stairs, signs, hanging signs, pressure plates, trapdoors, and boats — is available in the same striking red, so an entire piglin-themed outpost can be built end-to-end without leaving the palette.

Find a Crimson Forest in the Nether
Enter the Nether and explore until you find a Crimson Forest biome — recognizable by its red and pink coloring, tall crimson fungi, and weeping vines hanging from the ceiling.

Harvest crimson stems
Chop down the large crimson fungi with any axe. Each stem block drops itself, and a full giant fungus yields dozens of stems. No Silk Touch enchantment is needed.

Craft Crimson Planks on a crafting table
Place one crimson stem anywhere in the crafting grid — in your 2×2 inventory grid or on a crafting table — to receive four Crimson Planks. The conversion ratio is identical to all Overworld wood types.

Build next to lava safely
Place Crimson Planks directly beside lava pools or streams in your Nether base. Unlike oak or spruce planks, Crimson Planks will not catch fire from lava or open flames — a critical advantage underground.

Use Crimson Planks to craft crimson doors, fences, fence gates, slabs, stairs, trapdoors, pressure plates, signs, hanging signs, and boats — all in the same blood-red tone for a unified palette.
