Description

Incubator Dome is the transparent upper half of the Incubator, the 1×2 mutation multiblock of the Ala Industrial mod for Minecraft 26.2 on Fabric or NeoForge. The dome never exists as a craftable item: place any glass — plain, one of the sixteen stained colors, or tinted glass — directly on the Incubator base, and the block converts into this rounded chamber on the spot, completing the machine. Until the dome is in place the multiblock does not form and no mutation cycle can start. Inside the finished chamber the irradiated item floats and slowly spins, ringed by particles and a pulsing glow while a cycle runs.

Dismantling pays the glass back in full: the Incubator Dome remembers the exact block that formed it, so breaking either half drops that original glass — stained glass included — instead of the dome itself. Stained glass tints the chamber through seventeen looks, sixteen dye colors plus clear, while the frame and the spire always stay dark metal. The dome is purely structural: it holds no inventory and takes no cables, the base below keeps the five slots and the 8 EU/t draw at the LV limit of 32 EU/t, and right-clicking either half opens the same menu. Breaking the dome mid-cycle resets the running operation without refunding the irradiation charge, and pistons cannot push the dome away.

How to attach and use the Incubator Dome

  1. 1

    Craft the Incubator base

In a 3×3 grid, place three glass across the top, a uranium plate–machine casing–uranium plate row in the middle, and an iron plate–electronic circuit–iron plate row at the bottom. The uranium plates gate the machine behind the ore-to-plate chain.

  2. 2

Place the base and power it

Set the base down and connect an LV cable: the Incubator draws 8 EU/t while a cycle runs, under the 32 EU/t LV ceiling, into an 8,000 EU buffer.

  3. 3

    Place any glass on top

Put plain glass, one of the sixteen stained colors, or tinted glass directly on the base. The glass turns into the Incubator Dome immediately and the 1×2 multiblock forms.

  4. 4

Open the menu through the dome

Right-click the dome or the base — both halves open the same five-slot screen. Insert a mutation chip to pick the mode, a uranium ingot as fuel (three attempts per ingot), and the item to mutate.

  5. 5

    Dismantle without loss

Break either half to take the Incubator apart: the exact glass you placed drops back and the base returns as an item. A running cycle resets, and its spent irradiation charge is not refunded.

The dome cannot be carried

The Incubator Dome has no item form — it is absent from the creative tab and its loot table is empty, so a pickaxe never drops the dome itself. Only the original glass remembered by the base comes back.

Frequently asked questions

Can you craft the Incubator Dome?

No. The dome never exists as a craftable item: placing any glass on the Incubator base turns that glass block into the dome automatically.

How do you get your glass back?

Break either half of the multiblock. The base remembers the exact glass that formed the dome, so the original block drops — stained glass included, nothing is lost.

Does stained glass change the dome?

Yes. Stained glass tints the chamber through seventeen looks — sixteen dye colors plus clear — while the frame and spire always stay dark metal. Tinted glass renders uncolored.

Does the Incubator Dome use power or hold items?

No. The dome is purely structural: it holds no inventory and accepts no cables. The base below owns the five slots and draws 8 EU/t at the LV limit of 32 EU/t while a cycle runs.

Can you open the Incubator through the dome?

Yes. Right-clicking the dome opens the same menu as clicking the base — useful when the base half is buried in flooring or hidden behind a hopper.

What happens if the dome breaks mid-cycle?

The multiblock falls apart and the running operation resets without refunding the irradiation charge — the uranium burns either way. The original glass still drops back.
