Description

Unstable Isotope is the first rung of Ala Industrial's nuclear mutation ladder, and a material that appears in no chest, ore, or crafting grid — only the Incubator can produce it. It is created in the Incubator's create mode (with a creation chip) from depleted uranium, the ash left after a uranium ingot has powered three mutation attempts. Each attempt costs 8000 EU, drawn at 8 EU per tick for 1000 ticks, and has a 25% base success chance; about 5% of failed attempts instead yield irradiated slag. One successful attempt produces one Unstable Isotope.

Honestly, nothing in the current release consumes Unstable Isotope. It stacks to 64 and is meant as a forward-looking stockpile: rungs two and three of the nuclear ladder (the enriched core and everything above it) are not implemented yet, so the material's real gameplay value arrives in a later update. For now it is a collector's goal and a reason to keep an Incubator running with a creation chip and a supply of depleted uranium. Ala Industrial runs on EU (Energy Units), never FE or RF, and Unstable Isotope ships in the Java Edition 26.2 release on both Fabric and NeoForge.

Java Edition Guide

How to make Unstable Isotope in Ala Industrial

  1. 1

    Stock depleted uranium

Burn uranium ingots in the Incubator — one ingot powers three mutation attempts and leaves one depleted uranium in the ash slot.

  2. 2

    Switch to create mode

Insert a creation (mutation) chip to set the Incubator to create mode, the only mode that produces Unstable Isotope.

  3. 3

    Feed depleted uranium as input

Place depleted uranium in the Incubator's input slot; it is the sole ingredient of the nuclear ladder's first rung.

  4. 4

    Supply 8000 EU per attempt

Each create attempt costs 8000 EU at 8 EU per tick for 1000 ticks, so keep the Incubator's 8000 EU buffer charged.

  5. 5

    Roll the 25% success chance

Each attempt has a 25% base success chance and yields one Unstable Isotope on success, or irradiated slag on the 5% slag branch.

Heads up

Nothing consumes Unstable Isotope in the Java Edition 26.2 release yet — stockpile it for the future nuclear-tier recipes.

Frequently asked questions

What produces Unstable Isotope in Ala Industrial?

Only the Incubator, in create mode with a creation chip, from depleted uranium — 8000 EU and a 25% base success chance per attempt.

Is Unstable Isotope renewable?

No. Its chain begins with uranium ore, a finite mined resource, so Unstable Isotope cannot be produced indefinitely.

What is Unstable Isotope used for?

Currently nothing. It is a forward-looking stockpile — rungs two and three of the nuclear ladder are not implemented in the Java Edition 26.2 release.

How much EU does one Unstable Isotope cost?

Each attempt costs 8000 EU with a 25% success chance, so expect roughly four attempts (~32 000 EU) per Unstable Isotope, plus the depleted-uranium input.

Is Unstable Isotope on Bedrock Edition?

No. Ala Industrial is a Java Edition mod for Minecraft 26.2 and runs on Fabric or NeoForge only.

What is the stack size of Unstable Isotope?

64, like most items in Minecraft.
