Depleted Uranium
Depleted Uranium is the spent-fuel ash an Incubator leaves in its ash slot after burning a uranium ingot through three mutation attempts.
Description
The one working use for Depleted Uranium in the current release is the nuclear branch of the mutation ladder. Slot in a Creation Chip and the ash becomes an input: each attempt spends 8,000 EU — the machine's entire 8,000 EU buffer — over 1,000 ticks (50 seconds) at 8 EU per tick, trying to lift one Depleted Uranium into one Unstable Isotope. The base success chance is 25%, raised by gene bonuses but never above 95%, and in 5% of attempts the input is lost and leaves Irradiated Slag behind. The Unstable Isotope itself has no recipes yet, because rungs two and three of the nuclear ladder ship in a later release, so treat the isotope as a collection tier. Ala Industrial is an LV-tier (low voltage, up to 32 EU per tick) mod for Minecraft 26.2 (Java Edition) and runs identically on Fabric and NeoForge.

How to get Depleted Uranium from the Incubator in Ala Industrial
-
1
Build and power an Incubator
Set up an Incubator, an LV machine that draws 8 EU per tick while running and holds an 8,000 EU internal buffer. Connect any LV energy source before loading fuel.
-
2
Burn uranium ingots as fuel
Feed uranium ingots into the input. Each ingot funds exactly three mutation attempts, then settles in the ash slot as one Depleted Uranium.
-
3
Pull the ash out
Collect the depleted pieces from the ash slot by hand or with a hopper. The slot is extract-only, so automation can pull items out but never insert them there.
-
4
Reload the ash with a Creation Chip
Slot a Creation Chip to switch the Incubator to create mode and feed the Depleted Uranium back in. One attempt costs 8,000 EU, runs 1,000 ticks, and turns one piece into one Unstable Isotope at a 25% base success chance.
The Unstable Isotope has no recipes in the current release — the higher rungs of the nuclear ladder arrive later. In 5% of attempts the input is lost entirely and leaves Irradiated Slag instead.

Frequently asked questions
Can you craft Depleted Uranium?
No. No crafting grid, furnace, or blasting recipe produces it. The only source is the ash slot of an Incubator that has burned a uranium ingot through three mutation attempts.
What is Depleted Uranium used for?
It is the input of the nuclear mutation branch. With a Creation Chip slotted, the Incubator spends 8,000 EU per attempt trying to turn one Depleted Uranium into one Unstable Isotope at a 25% base success chance.
How many mutation attempts does one uranium ingot give?
Exactly three. After the third attempt the ingot settles in the ash slot as a single Depleted Uranium, so four ingots yield twelve attempts and four depleted pieces.
What happens when a mutation attempt fails?
At the 25% base chance most attempts fail quietly, but in 5% of attempts the input is lost entirely and leaves Irradiated Slag. Gene bonuses raise the chance, yet it never exceeds 95%.
Can hoppers extract Depleted Uranium?
Yes, but only outward. The ash slot is extract-only: hoppers and item pipes pull the depleted pieces out, while fuel and chips enter through their own slots.
