Description

Thermal Centrifuge is the second ore-doubling step of the Ala Industrial mod for Minecraft 26.2 Java Edition: one uranium dust goes in, two uranium concentrate come out, and each 200-tick operation costs 800 EU. Thermal Centrifuge is also the first block of the mod that has to be switched on and spun up — a held redstone signal accelerates the rotor for 400 ticks, and an Electric Heater directly below must be warm before the first operation starts. The LV tier sets the limits: an 800 EU internal buffer, a 32 EU/t input ceiling, 4 EU/t while spinning up or working and 1 EU/t for a rotor idling at speed. Together with the Electric Heater the pair draws 10 EU/t, and a copper cable (12 EU/t) carries the load with almost no margin left.

The full uranium chain makes the Thermal Centrifuge worth building: the Macerator crushes one ore block into two dusts, the Thermal Centrifuge splits each dust into two concentrate, and the Compressor presses two concentrate into one enriched uranium (U-235) — two enriched uranium from a single ore block instead of one ingot from a plain smelt, the charge for the reactor line's fuel rods. A second recipe separates one uranium ingot into two depleted uranium for shielding plates. Cutting the redstone signal stops the rotor at once and resets the spin, and only the Electric Heater counts as a heat source — lava, magma blocks and campfires leave the Thermal Centrifuge cold. The block runs on Fabric and NeoForge, is mined with a pickaxe (hardness 3.0, blast resistance 6.0), glows at light level 13 while working, and accepts hoppers and item pipes on every side except the bottom face, which belongs to the heater.

Guide

How to use the Thermal Centrifuge in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Craft the machine

Place a machine casing in the center of a crafting grid, redstone dust on both sides of the casing, tempered iron in the top corners, an electronic circuit right under the casing and iron ingots in the remaining slots: the TIT / RMR / IEI pattern yields one Thermal Centrifuge.

  2. 2

Stack the heater and the centrifuge

Place an Electric Heater on the floor, put the Thermal Centrifuge directly on top and connect a cable — the pair draws 10 EU/t, and a copper cable (12 EU/t) is just enough.

  3. 3

Hold the signal and spin up the rotor

Load uranium dust, flip a lever and keep the redstone signal on: the rotor reaches working speed in 400 ticks (20 seconds), while the Electric Heater below warms up twice as fast.

  4. 4

    Collect and press the concentrate

Every operation takes 200 ticks and 800 EU and turns one uranium dust into two uranium concentrate; collect the output from any side but the bottom face and press two concentrate into one enriched uranium in the Compressor.

Keep the lever on

Cutting the signal resets the rotor to zero at once, and a new spin-up costs 400 ticks at 4 EU/t — 1600 EU, the price of two full operations. A spun-up Thermal Centrifuge idles at just 1 EU/t, so holding the revolutions through a short break is cheaper than losing the spin. Lava, magma blocks and campfires never replace the Electric Heater: the heat below the Thermal Centrifuge comes from that block alone.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the Thermal Centrifuge refuse to start?

The Thermal Centrifuge waits for two conditions at once: a held redstone signal and a warmed-up Electric Heater directly below. The status line names the missing piece, from a missing signal to a heater that is still cold.

How much does a full spin-up cost?

The rotor needs 400 ticks at 4 EU/t, or 1600 EU in total — the price of two 800 EU operations. Holding the finished spin at idle costs only 1 EU/t.

Does lava under the Thermal Centrifuge work as heat?

No. Unlike the Vulcanizer, the Thermal Centrifuge accepts heat only from the Electric Heater; lava, magma blocks and campfires never start the rotor.

How much enriched uranium does one ore block give through the full chain?

The Macerator turns one ore block into two dusts, the Thermal Centrifuge splits each dust into two concentrate, and the Compressor presses two concentrate into one enriched uranium — two enriched uranium (U-235) per ore block instead of a single ingot from smelting.

Which cable feeds the centrifuge and the heater together?

The Thermal Centrifuge draws 4 EU/t and the Electric Heater adds 6 EU/t — 10 EU/t in total, which fits the 12 EU/t copper cable and stays far under the 32 EU/t LV ceiling.

Can hoppers automate the Thermal Centrifuge?

Yes, from every side except the bottom face, which the Electric Heater occupies. The output slot holds up to 64 uranium concentrate and auto-eject stays off.
