Description
Spruce Planks come from spruce logs felled in taiga, snowy taiga, and the towering old-growth taiga biomes. Four planks are produced per log on the crafting grid, the same yield as every other wood family in the game. Compared to oak or birch, the texture is noticeably darker — almost chocolate brown — and the grain pattern is sharp enough to read across an entire wall, which is why builders pick this variant for log cabins, ski lodges, and rustic interiors that need warmth without going black.
Like all wood, the material burns in fire and lava, can be smelted as fuel (one and a half items per plank), and forms the basis for doors, fences, slabs, stairs, signs, boats, ladders, and chests of the matching wood. Spruce trees can also grow as 2×2 megas when four saplings are planted together, giving prolific players an entire taiga's worth of these darker boards from a single sapling cluster.
