Shielding Helmet
Shielding Helmet is the head piece of the four-part radiation suit, cutting 25% of the uranium dose and lasting about three minutes inside a reactor core.
Description
Shielding Helmet is shaped on a vanilla crafting table from 3 Leather, 2 Rubber, 1 Yellow Dye and 1 Glass Pane for the visor; leather drops from mobs, Rubber comes from the Vulcanizer, and the dye is a crushed dandelion. Ala Industrial runs on Fabric and NeoForge, Java Edition only. On the player, Shielding Helmet hides the head behind a steel visor and a respirator, and the full set of helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots seals every pixel of the skin — wherever a piece is missing, skin stays visible and that share of the dose stays open. A dispenser can equip Shielding Helmet on a villager, a wandering trader or a cow, and a mob-worn suit never wears out. For long uranium hauls, step back from the source: one block away from a hot core triples the safe time, and three or four blocks cut the dose to almost nothing.

How to use the Shielding Helmet in Minecraft
-
1
Craft the helmet
On a crafting table, lay the top row Leather, Yellow Dye, Leather and the bottom row Rubber, Glass Pane, Rubber to craft Shielding Helmet.
-
2
Equip the helmet
Put Shielding Helmet into the helmet armour slot; from that moment the piece cuts 25% of every incoming radiation dose.
-
3
Track durability near uranium
Watch the durability bar while handling uranium: a live reactor core takes one point per second, Enriched Uranium in the pocket one point every two seconds, uranium ore one point every eight seconds. A broken helmet stops shielding.
-
4
Repair with rubber
Combine Shielding Helmet with Rubber at an anvil to restore durability before the next uranium run.
Radiation weakens with distance: one block away from a hot core triples the safe working time, and three or four blocks away the dose barely climbs. Step back from the source, and Shielding Helmet lasts longer.

Frequently asked questions
How much radiation does Shielding Helmet block?
Shielding Helmet cuts 25% of the incoming dose per piece. Four suit pieces stop 100% of ordinary exposure; against an open reactor core a hard cap of 95% applies, so 5% of the field always gets through.
Is Shielding Helmet good armour?
Shielding Helmet is deliberately weak as armour: protection 1 at the leather line, toughness 0 and enchantability 10. Players wear the piece for the radiation shielding, not for defence numbers.
How long does Shielding Helmet last near uranium?
Shielding Helmet spends about one durability point per second at a live reactor core — roughly three minutes of life — one every two seconds with Enriched Uranium carried, and one every eight seconds near uranium ore, which lasts twenty-plus minutes.
Can a mob wear Shielding Helmet?
A dispenser can equip Shielding Helmet on a villager, a wandering trader or a cow, searching about a 3×3 area for a target. A full suit gives the mob zero dose, and a mob-worn suit never wears out.
Does Shielding Helmet work without the rest of the suit?
Shielding Helmet works alone and still cuts its own 25%, but the chest, legs and feet stay exposed, and the missing pieces show as visible skin. Collect all four pieces before entering a reactor room.
