Shielding Chest is the lead-lined container of Ala Industrial and the only chest that fully stops the radiation of its contents: enriched uranium lying inside irradiates nobody, and an open lid changes nothing because the lead sits in the walls. The recipe puts one Iron Chest in the middle of a crafting grid and one Shielding Plate above, below and on both sides of it; the cross yields one Shielding Chest, and the items inside the old Iron Chest are kept. Capacity is deliberately the same 36 slots (4 rows of 9) as the Iron Chest — players buy the block for what it stops, not for what it fits. A vanilla chest, a barrel and every storage chest of Ala Industrial let radiation through with a ceiling of four items' worth, so uranium in an ordinary chest irradiates the surroundings almost like uranium on the floor.

Shielding Chest needs no energy, accepts any items and opens as a plain 36-slot window with no gauges. Two Shielding Chests placed side by side and facing the same way merge into a 72-slot double chest that hoppers, droppers and item pipes treat as a single container. Breaking a Shielding Chest stops the shielding instantly: the contents spill on the floor and start radiating again, so a full Shielding Chest is emptied first or broken in the shielding suit. The portable counterpart is the Shielding Pouch — the same full shielding for 128 weight in one inventory slot. Shielding Chest shields only its contents, not the room: against a fuelled Reactor Column and uranium on the floor the answers are Reactor Casing walls and the shielding suit. The block is available in Minecraft 26.2 Java Edition on both Fabric and NeoForge, breaks with any pickaxe (hardness 3.0, blast resistance 6.0) and drops itself.
