Description

The Oil Bucket is a vanilla-style fluid container from the Ala Industrial mod that holds a single source block of the mod's custom crude oil. It is not crafted on a table — the item is obtained by right-clicking an empty bucket on a source block of oil, just like scooping water or lava, and a second right-click places the oil source back down and returns the empty bucket. This makes the bucket the manual, survival-friendly way to collect the oil that feeds the mod's rubber chain.
The collected crude oil is the feedstock for the Polymerizer, which consumes 1000 mB of oil and 400 EU to produce raw rubber; that raw rubber is then vulcanized with sulfur dust into rubber used for cable insulation and MV components. An Oil Bucket stacks only to 1, works with dispensers on both Fabric and NeoForge, and is not furnace fuel — only the in-world oil fluid is flammable when ignited directly.

How to get and use an Oil Bucket in Ala Industrial

  1. 1

    Find an oil deposit

Search the Overworld underground. The richest deposits are deep reservoirs at Y -50 to -30 (about 1200 buckets each), while mine lakes at Y -40 to -8 are easier to reach.

  2. 2

Scoop oil with an empty bucket

Equip an empty bucket and right-click a source block of oil — exactly like collecting water. You now hold an Oil Bucket; the Oil Bucket is not craftable any other way.

  3. 3

    Carry it to a Polymerizer

Bring the Oil Bucket back to your base and empty it into the Polymerizer. Each batch needs 1000 mB of oil and 400 EU to produce raw rubber.

  4. 4

    Vulcanize the raw rubber

Send the raw rubber into a Vulcanizer with sulfur dust to make vulcanized rubber for cable insulation and MV-tier components.

Not furnace fuel

The Oil Bucket is not furnace fuel — only the in-world oil fluid is flammable when ignited directly with fire or flint-and-steel.

Frequently asked questions

Can you craft the Oil Bucket?

No. The Oil Bucket is not craftable — you obtain it by right-clicking an empty bucket on a source block of oil, just like a vanilla water bucket.

Is the Oil Bucket a fuel?

No. The Oil Bucket has no furnace fuel value. Only the in-world oil fluid is flammable when ignited directly with fire or flint-and-steel.

Does the Oil Bucket stack?

No. The Oil Bucket has a stack size of 1, the same as vanilla water and lava buckets, and empties back into a normal bucket when used.

Where do you find oil?

Oil spawns as lakes in the Overworld: mine lakes at Y -40 to -8 and deep reservoirs at Y -50 to -30 are the most productive. Oil does not appear in the Nether or the End.

What is the Oil Bucket used for?

Its main purpose is feeding the Polymerizer, which turns 1000 mB of oil into raw rubber at a cost of 400 EU, the start of the rubber chain.

Does a dispenser work with the Oil Bucket?

Yes. A dispenser can empty an Oil Bucket on both Fabric and NeoForge, and it can also fill an empty bucket from an oil source.
