Description

Irradiated Slag is the radioactive residue of Ala Industrial's Incubator — the leftover that drops when a mutation attempt misses instead of producing its intended result. About 5% of every Incubator run yields Irradiated Slag rather than an empty failure, and that 5% share is carved out of the failure side, never the success side, so a better mutation chip or a higher-grade input never lowers your real chance of a useful result. The slag lands in the Incubator's output slot and always rolls at Common grade, with no rarity tint, so it stacks cleanly with any other slag you collect.

Because every mutation attempt costs EU and a uranium charge — one uranium ingot buys three attempts before burning out into depleted uranium — Irradiated Slag builds up naturally as a secondary yield of running the Incubator at scale. In the current release it has no recipe and no consumer: it is groundwork for the future nuclear phase, where irradiated materials are expected to feed advanced crafting. There is no need to hoard or discard it; players who run many mutation cycles simply route the slag into a chest until those recipes arrive, and the Incubator's success rate is unaffected by how much slag has piled up.

How to get Irradiated Slag in Minecraft

    Assemble the Incubator

    Build the Incubator base (1 machine casing + 2 uranium plates + 3 glass + 1 electronic circuit + 2 iron plates) and place any glass block on top to form the dome.

    Load a mutation chip and uranium

    Insert a duplication, transformation, or creation chip to set the mode, then add a uranium ingot as fuel — one ingot grants three mutation attempts.

    Run mutation attempts

    Supply the Incubator with LV power (up to 32 EU/tick; it draws 8 EU/tick while running) and place an input item. About 5% of attempts produce Irradiated Slag instead of the intended output.

    Collect the slag from the output slot

    Pull the Irradiated Slag from the result slot when it appears; it always rolls as Common grade and stacks normally.
