The Wrench is the basic Industrial Craft 2 tool: right-click a machine face to rotate its output, or the output face of storage to remove it whole.
Description
The Wrench itself is crafted from six Bronze Ingots in a wrench outline on a crafting table: two ingots in the top corners, a full middle row, and one in the bottom-center. Bronze has no ore in IC2 — mixing 3 copper dust with 1 tin dust, shapeless, with crushed or purified ores accepted too, yields bronze dust that smelts into ingots. The Wrench carries durability, and only an undamaged Wrench upgrades into the Electric Wrench with a Small Power Unit; the Electric Wrench runs on EU, never wears out, and charges in a BatBox. Items stored inside a machine are lost the moment it comes off, and storage blocks shed about 20% of their EU, so empty machines before wrenching them away.

Make Bronze
Bronze has no ore in IC2. Combine 3 copper dust with 1 tin dust in any arrangement to craft bronze dust, smelt it into ingots, and gather six of them.

Craft the Wrench
On a crafting table, set the 6 Bronze Ingots in the wrench outline: two in the top corners, three across the middle row, one in the bottom-center. The grid yields one Wrench.

Rotate an IC2 machine
Hold the Wrench and right-click a Generator or a Macerator on any face: the output side snaps to the face you clicked. Sneak and right-click to move the output to the opposite side.

Dismantle a machine
Right-click a machine with no output face — or the output face of a transformer or storage block — to remove it. In IC2 Experimental the machine always drops whole; items inside are lost and storage sheds about 20% of its EU.

Upgrade to the Electric Wrench
Combine an undamaged Wrench with a Small Power Unit on the crafting table. The Electric Wrench runs on EU, never wears out, and recharges in a BatBox.
Mind which face you click on transformers and energy storage: the output face dismantles the block outright while every other face only rotates it.

Can the Wrench break a machine it dismantles?
Not in IC2 Experimental — the failure mechanic was removed and every dismantle drops the machine whole. In classic IC2, about 20% of attempts left only a Machine Block behind.
What happens to the items and EU inside a dismantled machine?
Everything inside is lost on removal, and a storage block keeps only about 80% of its EU. Pull the contents out before you pull the machine out.
Does the Wrench work on vanilla blocks?
No. The Wrench turns and removes Industrial Craft 2 machines only; vanilla blocks do not react to it.
How is the Electric Wrench different from the Wrench?
The Electric Wrench consumes EU instead of durability, never wears out, and recharges in energy storage like a BatBox — but crafting one consumes an undamaged Wrench and a Small Power Unit.
Where do Bronze Ingots come from?
