Description
Electric Wrench is the powered counterpart of the manual Wrench in Industrial Craft 2, designed for safely dismantling and rotating IC2 machines in Minecraft 1.12.2. Right-clicking an IC2 machine such as a Generator, Macerator, Compressor, MFE or MFSU lets the Electric Wrench pick the block up into the player inventory, while sneak-right-click rotates the machine's front face without removing it. Electric Wrench operates in two modes that the player toggles by right-clicking in the air. Normal mode consumes a low amount of EU per use but introduces a chance that the machine drops as a generic Machine Block, which strips its tier and upgrades. Lossless mode consumes a much higher amount of EU per use and guarantees that the dismantled machine drops as its exact form, preserving MFE, MFSU and Induction Furnace upgrades. Electric Wrench stores an internal LV energy buffer of around 10,000 EU and recharges in any IC2 LV charging device, such as a BatBox or Charging Bench. Electric Wrench works strictly on IC2 machines and does not affect vanilla blocks like pistons or dispensers.

Charge the Electric Wrench
Place Electric Wrench inside a BatBox, Charging Bench or other IC2 LV charger and wait until its internal EU buffer is full.

Pick the correct mode
Right-click Electric Wrench in the air to toggle between normal mode (low EU, risk of losing tier) and lossless mode (high EU, guaranteed exact drop).

Dismantle an IC2 machine
Aim at an IC2 machine such as MFE, MFSU or Induction Furnace and right-click to remove it directly into your inventory.

Rotate without removing
Sneak and right-click an IC2 machine with Electric Wrench to rotate its front face to the chosen direction without dismantling it.

Recharge after heavy use
After several lossless dismantles return Electric Wrench to the LV charger, since lossless mode drains the EU buffer quickly.
Note
Use lossless mode only for upgraded machines like MFSU; for plain blocks normal mode saves EU.
