How to Make Advanced Heat Exchanger in Minecraft
Advanced Heat Exchanger
The Advanced Heat Exchanger is an IndustrialCraft 2 reactor component that moves heat twice as fast as the basic Heat Exchanger.
Description
In IC2 Experimental, the recipe combines two basic Heat Exchangers with four Lapis Lazuli Plates, two Electronic Circuits and one Copper Plate. The basic Heat Exchanger can be crafted into several other heat exchangers, so the Advanced Heat Exchanger is one of a family of upgrades.
Guide
How to make and use the Advanced Heat Exchanger in Minecraft
-
1
Craft two basic Heat Exchangers
In IC2 Experimental, each basic Heat Exchanger takes 5 Copper Plates, 3 Tin Plates and 1 Electronic Circuit.
-
2
Gather the remaining ingredients
Collect 4 Lapis Lazuli Plates, 2 Electronic Circuits and 1 Copper Plate.
-
3
Craft the Advanced Heat Exchanger
Put the Copper Plate in the center of the crafting grid, a Heat Exchanger on its left and right, an Electronic Circuit above and below it, and a Lapis Lazuli Plate in each of the four corners.
-
4
Put the Advanced Heat Exchanger in the reactor
Add the finished Advanced Heat Exchanger to a Nuclear Reactor so the exchanger moves heat between the hull and neighboring components.
The basic Heat Exchanger can be crafted into several other heat exchangers that each move heat differently, so decide which type your reactor needs before spending two basic ones on this upgrade.

Frequently asked questions
How does the Advanced Heat Exchanger compare with the basic Heat Exchanger?
The basic Heat Exchanger holds 2500 hU and takes 4 hU/s from the hull and 12 hU/s from adjacent components. The Advanced Heat Exchanger holds 10,000 hU and takes 8 hU/s and 24 hU/s.
Which reactors use the Advanced Heat Exchanger?
The Advanced Heat Exchanger works in the Nuclear Reactor and in the Pressure Vessel Reactor.
Is the recipe the same in every IC2 version?
No, the legacy version of IC2 uses Glass Fibre Cables in place of the Lapis Lazuli Plates and a Dense Copper Plate in place of the Copper Plate.
