Bronze is Industrial Craft 2's copper-tin alloy: 3 Copper Dust plus 1 Tin Dust yields 4 Bronze Dust for smelting into ingots, plates, and item casings.

Description

Bronze is an alloy metal added by Industrial Craft 2 (IC2) for Minecraft 1.7.10 through 1.12.2. Bronze never generates as ore — every ingot starts at a crafting grid. Mix 3 Copper Dust with 1 Tin Dust in a shapeless recipe to receive 4 Bronze Dust; crushed and purified ore forms from ore processing fit the same recipe. Bronze Dust smelts in any furnace, the IC2 Electric Furnace included, at one ingot per dust. Nine tiny piles of Bronze Dust combine back into a single full dust. 9 ingots also pack into a Bronze Block that returns to ingots whenever needed. Running Copper Ore and Tin Ore through a Macerator doubles the dust yield compared to direct smelting, which effectively doubles every bronze batch.

In metal shaping, a Forge Hammer turns a Bronze Ingot into a plate. A second hammering splits the plate into 2 Bronze Item Casings — the working parts of the Wrench, Tool Box, Wind Meter, Advanced RE-Battery, and CESU. Three iron, three bronze, and three tin casings together craft 2 Alloy. Bronze also substitutes for iron in rails and builds a full set of bronze tools and armor: the mining level matches iron, efficiency runs slightly lower, and durability is about the same. Copper Ore and Tin Ore are plentiful underground, so Bronze is the standard mid-game material of an IC2 base.

How to make and shape Bronze in Industrial Craft 2

    Stock up on dusts

    Mine Copper Ore and Tin Ore and run both through a Macerator — each ore yields 2 dust instead of a single smelted ingot.

    Mix Bronze Dust

    Combine 3 Copper Dust with 1 Tin Dust in a shapeless recipe to produce 4 Bronze Dust; crushed or purified ore forms work too.

    Smelt Bronze Ingots

    Place Bronze Dust into any furnace, the IC2 Electric Furnace included, to get 1 Bronze Ingot per dust.

    Hammer plates and casings

    Use a Forge Hammer on a Bronze Ingot to make a Bronze Plate, then hammer the Bronze Plate once more to split off 2 Bronze Item Casings.

    Store in blocks

    Craft 9 Bronze Ingots into 1 Bronze Block for compact storage and decompose the Bronze Block back into 9 ingots when needed.

Tip

Nine tiny piles of Bronze Dust craft into one full dust, but the reverse does not exist: Bronze Dust cannot be split back into piles, unlike ingots and blocks.
