Wood Rotor Blade
Wood Rotor Blade is the entry-level IndustrialCraft 2 turbine component, crafted from oak planks and oak logs, used to assemble a Wood Rotor for kinetic wind and water generators.
Description
Wood Rotor Blade is never placed in the world as a standalone block. Four Wood Rotor Blades combine around one Iron Plate in the crafting grid to produce a Wood Rotor, which is then inserted into a Kinetic Wind Generator or Kinetic Water Generator to convert airflow or water flow into rotational energy. The wood tier delivers the lowest kinetic output and breaks fastest under load, so players typically craft Wood Rotor Blade only for early-game power testing before upgrading the rotor to bronze, iron, steel, or carbon for sustained generation.
IndustrialCraft 2 Guide
How to craft and use a Wood Rotor Blade in IndustrialCraft 2
-
1
Gather oak planks and oak logs
Collect at least six Oak Planks and three Oak Logs from oak trees — the same vanilla ingredients used for any early-game wood recipe.
-
2
Open the 3×3 crafting grid
Use a Crafting Table to open the full 3×3 grid. The Wood Rotor Blade recipe does not fit in the 2×2 inventory crafting grid.
-
3
Place planks and logs in the rotor-blade pattern
Lay out each row as Plank-Log-Plank so the Oak Log sits in the middle column of all three rows. The grid uses six Oak Planks and three Oak Logs and produces one Wood Rotor Blade.
-
4
Assemble a Wood Rotor
Combine four Wood Rotor Blades with one Iron Plate in the crafting grid to build a Wood Rotor, the kinetic part that goes inside a generator.
-
5
Insert the rotor into a kinetic generator
Place the Wood Rotor into a Kinetic Wind Generator or Kinetic Water Generator. The rotor converts airflow or water flow into kinetic energy that a Kinetic Generator turns into EU.
Wood Rotor Blade is tier one of five IC2 rotor blade tiers. Bronze, Iron, Steel, and Carbon Rotor Blades last longer and yield more kinetic energy per rotor, so craft Wood Rotor Blade only for early testing.

Frequently asked questions
Can you craft a Wood Rotor Blade in IndustrialCraft 2?
Yes. Wood Rotor Blade is crafted by placing six Oak Planks and three Oak Logs in a 3×3 grid, with one Oak Log centered in each row, yielding one blade per craft.
What is a Wood Rotor Blade used for?
Wood Rotor Blade is an intermediate part combined with three more blades and one Iron Plate to build a Wood Rotor, which is inserted into a Kinetic Wind Generator or Kinetic Water Generator to generate kinetic energy.
Is Wood Rotor Blade the best rotor blade in IndustrialCraft 2?
No. Wood Rotor Blade is tier one, the weakest of five tiers. Bronze, Iron, Steel, and Carbon Rotor Blades last longer and produce more kinetic energy per rotor.
Does Wood Rotor Blade exist in vanilla Minecraft?
No. Wood Rotor Blade is added exclusively by the IndustrialCraft 2 mod and does not appear in vanilla Minecraft Java or Bedrock Edition.
How many Wood Rotor Blades go into one Wood Rotor?
Four Wood Rotor Blades combine with one Iron Plate on the crafting grid to produce one Wood Rotor.
