Guide
How to craft and use a Wood Rotor in Industrial Craft 2
-
1
Craft four Wood Rotor Blades
Wood Rotor Blade is the wood-based sub-component that supplies the rotor's outer ring, so prepare four blades before assembling the rotor itself.
-
2
Open a 3x3 crafting grid
Place one Iron Ingot in the center slot and one Wood Rotor Blade above, below, left, and right of the Iron Ingot, leaving the four corners empty.
-
3
Collect the finished Wood Rotor
The plus-shaped recipe yields one Wood Rotor that does not stack, so reserve a free inventory slot before pulling the result out of the grid.
-
4
Install in a Kinetic Wind Generator
Open the Kinetic Wind Generator GUI and slot the Wood Rotor in to begin converting wind strength of 10 MCW or higher into kinetic energy for a Kinetic Generator.
-
5
Plan replacement at 10,800 seconds
Wood Rotor breaks after three real-time hours of spinning, and wind above 60 MCW burns that budget four times faster, so keep spare rotors near high-altitude wind plants.
Wood Rotor spins from 10 to 60 MCW safely; sustained wind above 60 MCW still produces energy but quadruples durability loss, which shortens the rotor's three-hour lifetime dramatically.

Frequently asked questions
What is the crafting recipe for Wood Rotor in Industrial Craft 2?
Wood Rotor is crafted by placing one Iron Ingot in the center of a 3x3 grid and surrounding it with four Wood Rotor Blades in a plus shape (top, bottom, left, right), leaving the corners empty.
Which machine uses the Wood Rotor?
The Kinetic Wind Generator uses Wood Rotor as its spinning part to convert wind strength into kinetic energy (kU), which a Kinetic Generator then converts into EU.
How long does a Wood Rotor last before breaking?
Wood Rotor lasts 10,800 seconds, equal to three real-time hours of continuous spinning, after which the rotor breaks and must be replaced with a fresh one.
What wind range does Wood Rotor operate in?
Wood Rotor spins in wind from 10 to 60 MCW; above 60 MCW the rotor keeps turning but consumes durability four times faster, sharply reducing its three-hour lifetime.
Is Wood Rotor renewable in survival?
Yes, Wood Rotor is renewable because Wood Rotor Blade comes from wood and Iron Ingots are renewable via Iron Golem farms or villager trading.
Does Wood Rotor exist on Bedrock Edition?
No, Wood Rotor is a Java Edition item from Industrial Craft 2 and has no Bedrock Edition port because the mod itself is Java-only.
