Description

The Recycler is an IndustrialCraft 2 machine that turns almost any unwanted block or item into Scrap, the key ingredient for cheaper UU-Matter. Each operation runs for 2.25 seconds and consumes about 45 EU at the LV tier (max 32 EU/t input), making the Recycler one of the fastest basic IC2 machines. Every processed item has a 1-in-8 (12.5%) chance to yield one Scrap, while the rest are simply destroyed, so feed it cobblestone, dirt, saplings or other junk rather than valuables. You craft a Recycler from a Compressor, two Dirt, two Iron Ingots and one Glowstone Dust. Collected Scrap drops the energy cost of UU-Matter in a Mass Fabricator and can be compressed into a Scrap Box. A built-in blacklist marks items that are consumed without producing any Scrap.

How to use the Recycler in IndustrialCraft 2

    Craft the Recycler

    Combine a Compressor, two Dirt blocks, two Iron Ingots and one Glowstone Dust on a crafting table to build the Recycler machine.

    Wire up power

    Place the Recycler and connect a cable from a battery or generator; it accepts up to 32 EU/t and stores 45 EU at the LV tier.

    Feed it junk

    Open the GUI and load worthless items such as cobblestone, dirt or saplings into the input slot to start recycling.

    Collect the Scrap

    Each item takes 2.25 seconds and has a 12.5% chance to output one Scrap; pull the finished Scrap from the output slot.

Tip

Never recycle valuable items — only one in eight produces Scrap and the rest are destroyed. Use the Scrap in a Mass Fabricator to lower UU-Matter energy cost.
