Description
It generates beneath grass blocks and serves as the foundation of most landscapes. Dirt can be mined by hand or with any tool, though using a shovel is fastest. Grass spreads naturally onto adjacent dirt blocks under sufficient light, eventually turning them into grass blocks. Dirt is essential for early-game farming: it can be tilled with a hoe to create farmland for growing wheat, carrots, potatoes, and beetroots. It is also a key ingredient in pottery and many decorative builds.
