Description

Nano Chestplate is a tier-3 (HV) chest armor from IndustrialCraft 2 that spends EU instead of durability: while charged it protects like a diamond chestplate — 8 armor points — and every absorbed half heart of damage costs 5,000 EU. The internal battery holds up to 1,000,000 EU, enough to absorb 200 half hearts between recharges. Charging happens in the top slot of an MFE or an MFSU, and low-tier sources such as the BatBox or CESU cannot charge tier-3 gear. When the EU runs out, the chestplate stays on the body but stops absorbing damage entirely, so keeping the charge topped up is part of the routine.

The recipe is plain crafting-table work: seven Carbon Plates in the classic chestplate outline with one charged Energy Crystal in the center of the grid, the top-middle cell left empty. In the IC2 armor line the Nano Chestplate sits above the Composite Vest and below the Quantum Chestplate, and the piece itself is an ingredient of its quantum counterpart. Night vision is not part of this item — that ability belongs to the Nano Helmet, inherited from the Nightvision Goggles in its recipe. A full Nano set adds up to 20 armor points for mid and late game Minecraft with IndustrialCraft 2.

How to craft and charge the Nano Chestplate

    Prepare the materials

    Compress seven Carbon Plates from carbon mesh and charge one Energy Crystal in the top slot of an MFE or MFSU.

    Lay out the chestplate shape

    On a crafting table, fill the chestplate outline with the seven Carbon Plates and place the charged Energy Crystal in the center cell; the top-middle cell stays empty.

    Check the charge

    Look at the finished chestplate's charge bar: full means 1,000,000 EU, and the top slot of an MFE or MFSU tops the rest up.

    Watch the charge in combat

    Every half heart of absorbed damage drains 5,000 EU, so return to the charging station after long fights or mining trips — an empty Nano Chestplate absorbs nothing.

Tip

Night vision lives in the Nano Helmet, not the chestplate: the helmet inherits it from the Nightvision Goggles in its recipe and toggles it with Alt+M.
