Description

Energy Crystal is a Medium Voltage (MV) portable battery from Industrial Craft 2 that stores up to 100,000 EU and outputs at the MV tier of 128 EU/t. Energy Crystal is crafted on a vanilla Crafting Table from one Diamond in the center surrounded by 8 Redstone Dust, making Energy Crystal the natural next step after the basic RE-Battery, which only holds 10,000 EU at low voltage. The red, faceted texture of Energy Crystal makes Energy Crystal easy to spot in the inventory alongside other IC2 storage items.

Energy Crystal powers MV-tier IC2 tools and machines when slotted into their internal charge slot, so an Energy Crystal keeps a Diamond Drill, Chainsaw, or higher-tier mining device running far longer than an RE-Battery would. To recharge an Energy Crystal, place Energy Crystal inside an MFE Unit, or drop Energy Crystal into the player charge slot of an MFE or MFSU. Energy Crystal is also the core ingredient of the Lapotron Crystal, the High Voltage successor that stores 1,000,000 EU, which makes Energy Crystal a key crafting step on the IC2 energy progression path.

How to craft and use Energy Crystal in Minecraft

    Gather the ingredients

    Collect 1 Diamond and 8 Redstone Dust. Industrial Craft 2 must be installed on a Minecraft 1.12.2 client and server.

    Craft Energy Crystal

    Open a vanilla Crafting Table, place the Diamond in the center slot and fill the other 8 slots with Redstone Dust to craft Energy Crystal.

    Charge Energy Crystal in an MFE

    Place Energy Crystal in the charge slot of an MFE Unit fed by a Generator or Solar Panel; the MFE charges Energy Crystal up to 100,000 EU.
