Iridium Drill
Iridium Drill is the final electric drill of Industrial Craft 2 with a 300,000 EU (mod energy) buffer and a Fortune III and Silk Touch mode toggle on one key.
Description
The signature feature of the Iridium Drill is the built-in enchantment toggle: the mode switch key (M by default) alternates between Fortune III and Silk Touch. Fortune III multiplies ore drops, while Silk Touch leaves the ore block whole for further processing in IC2 machines. One full charge of 300,000 EU covers roughly 300 blocks at about 1,000 EU per block. On long expeditions the worn Energypack keeps feeding the Iridium Drill in the field, and an MFSU at the base covers the full 512 EU/t input. The Iridium Drill is the endgame mining tool of IC2: pick Fortune III for raw output or Silk Touch for intact ore blocks.

How to use the Iridium Drill in Minecraft

Assemble the craft
Place one Diamond Drill in the center of the crafting grid, one Iridium above, left and right of it, and one Energy Crystal below to craft the Iridium Drill.

Charge the drill
Insert the Iridium Drill into the charge slot of an MFE or an MFSU: an HV-tier (tier 3) tool takes up to 512 EU/t, and lower-tier storage cannot charge the Iridium Drill.

Pick the mining mode
Hold the Iridium Drill and press the mode switch key (M by default) to alternate between Fortune III and Silk Touch before the first block.

Watch the EU budget
Mine blocks as with a pickaxe: each block drains about 1,000 EU, and one full 300,000 EU charge covers roughly 300 blocks.

Stay powered in the field
Wear an Energypack to keep feeding the Iridium Drill on long trips, or return to an MFSU when the buffer runs dry.
In Silk Touch mode the Iridium Drill drops the ore block itself instead of loose resources, which is exactly the input IC2 processing machines expect.
