Description

Carbon Plate is an Industrial Craft 2 (IC2) crafting material produced by compressing Carbon Mesh inside an IC2 Compressor, which runs on EU power. The chain starts at the Macerator: grind Coal into Coal Dust, craft two Coal Dust into one Carbon Fibre on a Crafting Table, then combine two Carbon Fibre into one Carbon Mesh sheet. The thin, dark grey sheet with a woven fibre texture reflects Carbon Plate's origin as heat-treated carbon fibre cloth. Carbon Plate exists only with the Industrial Craft 2 mod installed on Minecraft Java Edition and stacks up to 64 per slot for convenient long-term storage in factories.

Carbon Plate is the core ingredient for every Nano Suit piece — helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots — plus the Nano Saber and the Advanced Machine Block. Carbon Plate gives IC2 builders a fully craftable alternative to mob-drop or ore-based protection, so scale production through automated Compressor lines and a steady Coal Dust supply for the upstream Carbon Mesh step.

How to craft Carbon Plate in Minecraft Industrial Craft 2

    Prepare Coal Dust

    Grind Coal in an IC2 Macerator to obtain Coal Dust, the base material for Carbon Fibre.

    Craft Carbon Fibre

    Combine two Coal Dust on a Crafting Table to produce one Carbon Fibre.

    Craft Carbon Mesh

    Combine two Carbon Fibre on a Crafting Table to produce one Carbon Mesh sheet.

    Compress into Carbon Plate

    Power an IC2 Compressor with EU and run Carbon Mesh through it to obtain one Carbon Plate per Carbon Mesh.

    Stockpile for armor

    Store Carbon Plate in a chest near your crafting setup so Nano Suit and Nano Saber recipes are quick to assemble.

Tip

Carbon Mesh cannot be smelted into Carbon Plate in a Furnace — the Compressor is the only machine for this step, and an early charged battery or basic generator covers its EU needs.
