Description

Jetpack Attachment Plate is the Industrial Craft 2 component that connects a Jetpack Electric to body armor, so a player can fly without giving up chest protection. Crafting the plate takes a full 3×3 shaped grid built from four Iridium Shard, two Alloy, two Carbon Plate, and one Steel, and the recipe produces a single plate, so gathering iridium comes first.

Using the Jetpack Attachment Plate is a shapeless craft in its own right: one plate, one Jetpack Electric, and any chest-wearable item combine into a new version of that item with the jetpack attached. The combined armor keeps every original property and behaves normally in all other respects. Attaching a jetpack to a Batpack does not enlarge the pack's storage, but the jetpack gains access to the full reserve, lifting its operating limit from 30,000 EU to 60,000 EU; an Advanced Batpack raises the limit to 600,000 EU, and a Nano Chestplate to 1,000,000 EU. The Quantum Chestplate needs no plate at all, because that armor already integrates a 10,000,000 EU jetpack.

Guide

How to Craft and Use the Jetpack Attachment Plate in Industrial Craft 2

  1. 1

    Craft the Jetpack Attachment Plate

The recipe needs a full 3×3 grid on a crafting table: an Iridium Shard goes in each of the four corners, an Alloy in the top and bottom middle cells, a Carbon Plate in the left and right middle cells, and a Steel in the center. One crafting operation yields one Jetpack Attachment Plate.

  2. 2

Choose the chest armor to upgrade

Any chest-wearable item qualifies for the conversion, from an ordinary chestplate to IC2 energy armor like a Batpack, Advanced Batpack, or Nano Chestplate.

  3. 3

    Combine plate, jetpack, and armor

One Jetpack Attachment Plate, one Jetpack Electric, and the chosen armor complete a shapeless recipe — place the three items anywhere in the grid and collect the new armor version with the jetpack attached.

  4. 4

    Recharge the combined armor

EU charging blocks and EU storage blocks recharge the combined armor directly, and an EU charging item works while the armor sits in the action bar.

Charging exception

EU charging items cannot recharge a modified Advanced Batpack even in the action bar, while the regular Batpack still charges that way, so an EU charging block serves the advanced pack.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Jetpack Attachment Plate change the armor's stats?

No. The conversion adds flight and nothing else, and the armor item keeps all of its original properties and behaviors.

Can two jetpacks be attached to the same armor?

No. A second jetpack cannot be attached to armor that already carries one.

Does attaching a jetpack increase a Batpack's EU storage?

No. The pack's total storage stays the same; the attached jetpack simply gains access to the full reserve instead of its own smaller limit.

Does the attached jetpack change an item's power tier?

No. The Advanced Batpack remains power tier 2 and the Nano Chestplate remains power tier 3, while the jetpack itself is a power tier 1 device.
