The Geiger Counter is a pocket radiation alarm from the Ala Industrial mod that needs no power and no hands. The instrument works from any inventory slot: craft it once, carry it, and it reports by sound alone, because radiation in the mod has no icon and no particles. There is no HUD panel and no tooltip reading — only clicks and a small lamp on the case, green while no danger is heard and red when a hazard is near. The Geiger Counter hears sources up to 16 blocks away, while radiation itself reaches only 6 blocks, so most clicks arrive as pure early warning. The instrument is an item, not a placeable block: it stacks to 64 and never asks for EU.

The clicks tell two things apart by ear. A lower tone that quickens on approach means uranium ore in the rock — the vein adds no dose while it stays in the wall, and only mined uranium carried in the inventory starts to irradiate. The normal tone is the danger scale: about 3 clicks per second at the far edge of a zone (field 1–20), 8 at 20–100, 15 at 100–400, and a solid roar near 20 above 400, where the instrument saturates instead of lying. Readings refresh once per second, on the same 20-tick sweep (a tick is 1/20 of a second) the dose uses. The recipe costs five Tin Ingots, one Electronic Circuit and one Glass Pane, and unlocks the first time the player picks up Raw Uranium. Ala Industrial runs only on Minecraft 26.2 Java Edition, on both Fabric and NeoForge.
